[Behind Claire is a fairly unassuming background. An empty wall, and a cabinet with an assortment of herbs, bottles, and jars to be put in their proper place. She takes a breath before clapping her hands together.]

Well. Seems like I chose a wonderful time to open my own clinic.

[With all this summoning business.]

As some of you might remember, the Sanctuary made it very clear during the riots some months back that it can't always be relied on. [The smile here is thin. Very thin.] I never felt comfortable setting foot in that place after being turned away at the doors when people were in need. So, I've opened my own, near the market district here in Olympia. It's nothing grand, or... much at all, yet, but in time I hope it will be a place people are comfortable coming with medical concerns, be it treatment or a desire to learn a few things as I was once teaching with Dr. John Watson.

Seeing that he's returned to stasis, I'd be happy to see anyone that was under his care.

[And she probably shouldn't laugh, but... it's better than dwelling on the fear of the recent news.]

Hopefully my new endeavor isn't destroyed by a dragon anytime in the near future.

[ Belatedly, John realises... he has no idea if she knows what an EMT is. He winces at himself, glad she can't see him fidgeting. ]

If -- they don't have that where you're from it's like... emergency battlefield medicine. Not a -- real doctor.

[ Wow, this is awkward, ANYWAY. Hows about he never tries to have this conversation ever again he feels super weird about it. ]

I know what it is. I'm a surgeon. Don't let the setting fool you.

[She motions to the background. It's just her aesthetic. She's always preferred this over cold, white and blue operating rooms.]

And before that, I was a combat nurse. It's real enough.

[ So his terrible awkward explanation was totally unnecessary cool cool cool.

Good job making the worlds worst impression. Come on, John, full sentences. She can probably hear him taking a breath to pull himself together. ]

I was Air Force. Flew with pararescue but not for 5 years or so now, so you know. Pretty well lapsed.

[She's most certainly picking up on something here. It's evident enough on her face.]

[ Busted. John makes a face both at her for daring to notice and at himself for being a useless liar. ]

Yeah, you know. Rough few days. Anyway --

[ Look at the time, it's time for a topic that is not him! ]

A call list is a good idea. You can put me on it you need people.

I wouldn't want to put you into a position you're not comfortable with. If you feel the need to help, that's admirable, but there are plenty others who can, too.

[ Ugh. John tries to shake off the weird feeling and make his tone a little more convincingly sedate. ]

It's not that I'm uncomfortable with it, it's more overall anxiety about the potential dramatics that might require me to pitch in and help. I'm a worrier.
