A Public Service Announcement:
Star-Lord is the handsomest, funniest, most modest guy around with the sweetest singing voice and the sickest dance moves. It’s an absolute privilege and delight to call him a friend. My days are enriched for knowing him and fuller for speaking with him.
Everyone adores him. They think he’s a righteous dude.
P.S. – Gamora, you shouldn’t leave your comm lying around unlocked. xoxo Star-Lord

They're forms of, um. Automobiles? [ ... if she doesn't know what a van is, she probably doesn't know what an "automobile" is, so he switches gears. ] A kind of transportation, where I was from.
They're not suspicious by themselves, usually, but sometimes the people who drive them can be, like, really shady. So, you know, you don't wanna hop in with 'em in case they kidnap you.

Oh, I know of those! I was told they're like a horse carriage, but ones that move without the horses.
[ she's so delighted she knows something relevant to the conversation! though her delight changes into grim understanding very quickly, because, oh, the explanation actually makes a lot of sense. ]
I see... that's true. Everywhere in the world they hurt people who shouldn't be hurt. Trusting strangers is just naive.

When I was a kid, we had a lot of school assemblies. Teacher and parents were always telling us not to talk to strangers or accept food or drink from random dudes on the street. Junk like that.

[ also smart. ]
Perhaps you're the one who should be writing those after school specials.
