A Public Service Announcement:

Star-Lord is the handsomest, funniest, most modest guy around with the sweetest singing voice and the sickest dance moves. It’s an absolute privilege and delight to call him a friend. My days are enriched for knowing him and fuller for speaking with him.

Everyone adores him. They think he’s a righteous dude.

P.S. – Gamora, you shouldn’t leave your comm lying around unlocked. xoxo Star-Lord

I guess sarcasm really doesn't translate well over text.

[ oh Peter, she doesn't even know either of you and she knows Gamora is pissed.]

Oh, no, I got the message.

But considering you did use a text medium, it left it open to interpretation.

So I interpreted it as positive.

So thanks.

I figured you didn't need more yelling, you've got plenty of that coming from her.

[ well-deserved yelling at that. ]

Tell me your name isn't actually Star Lord.

[ because that sounds like more of his modesty shining through.]

[personal profile] nostalgiabomb 2018-05-12 11:51 pm (UTC)(link)
Nah. Real name's Peter Quill. Star-Lord is an old call sign.

That's better.

You know, there are better ways to get someone's attention than by stealing their stuff and being obnoxious.

I know there are. And I'm sure you're hopin' I'll ask for advice, but I'm gonna go ahead and pass.

Thanks, though.

That's a nice assumption, but I have one of you at home, and nothing trains the ego out of him, either.

[ advice? apparently she marries Captain Hook. she's the last person who could give advice. stealing her stuff and being obnoxious worked on her.]

[ He lets out a small, considering hum at that.

Then, slightly puzzled, ]

Soooo. I'm not sure if this is a vote for "keep on keepin' on" or what, now. It's kinda some mixed signals, here.

It was meant as more of an I get it than anything else.

[ she's hoping he has the same level of heroic redeeming qualities as Hook. if he doesn't - kick his ass, Gamora.]
nostalgiabomb: (215)

[personal profile] nostalgiabomb 2018-05-26 05:56 am (UTC)(link)
I appreciate the understanding.

[ and he delivers the words in that sort of way that says, "I'm not entirely sure what to do with this, but thanks???" ]

Sure you do.

[ anything else is gonna sound like advice, Peter. you already ruled that out.]

What prompted this?
nostalgiabomb: (064)

[personal profile] nostalgiabomb 2018-05-26 08:05 am (UTC)(link)
[ You can certainly try, Ms. Swan, but the likelihood of any advice going in one ear and out the other is exceedingly, terribly, unfortunately high. ]

Like I said – it was a lesson in the importance of information security.

[ but mostly, it seemed like it'd be funny.

Peter thinks he was right, even if he's going to be killed in cold blood, later. ]
sheriffing: (🌟 29)

[personal profile] sheriffing 2018-05-26 11:24 pm (UTC)(link)
That she shouldn't have left it around someone she might have trusted?

[ because, thinking about it - ]

That's not really a lesson for information security, it's a lesson against trusting you.

[personal profile] nostalgiabomb 2018-05-27 06:11 am (UTC)(link)
[ He shrugs, though the gesture goes unseen with it being voice only. ]

Then it was a joke.
sheriffing: (🌟 43)

[personal profile] sheriffing 2018-05-27 06:23 am (UTC)(link)
Are you gonna survive it?

[ it's only funny if you live to tell the tale.]
nostalgiabomb: (027)

[personal profile] nostalgiabomb 2018-05-27 07:44 am (UTC)(link)
Probably?

[ And he drags the word out. ]

I mean, I know Gamora has basically been promising murder, but, I'm pretty sure she doesn't mean it.

If I'm honest, she promises to kill me a lot, so, you know. This is about par for the course.

If what I've heard about this place is true, people tend to come back.

[ from death, sometimes from stasis. she sounds almost optimistic.]

It sounds like you have a system that works for you, so. Good luck with that.

[ He frowns a little at that.

Because he remembers seeing his mother up on the station, healthy and whole again, looking like sickness had never touched her. He's not sure what he'll do, if she wakes up. He's not sure what he'll say or how he'll act or what the hell she'll think of the man her little Star-Lord grew up to be, but—

Man. No. He shoves that thought away. ]

I appreciate the well-wishes.

[ And he says it lightly, at least. ]

Thankfully, I run really fast. She'll probably get bored of trying to chase me down to eviscerate me, so we won't have to test that theory.
