This has been bothering me for a little while....

Back on my world there was a tyrant who was overthrown and killed. Before he died, he told the person who took him down "by killing me, you have doomed yourself." We never know exactly what he meant but then all of this happens. I just want to know if--

["if this is my fault" but she holds that back. There's a pause for a second or two before she continues.]

I want to know if anybody else here was warned about the end of your world. If there was any way to have seen this coming.

[He wasn't hiding what he was, but he was hardly blurting it out in greeting to everyone he met. She'd have to ask.]

[He felt the edge of his lip twitch up in a smile, wondering just how she'd take the news, or if she'd believe it.]

A decade or so shy of six hundred.

[There's a sound on her end like somebody jumping a little bit in surprise. He isn't the first very long-lived person she's met but the last one wasn't a very good one.]

... Is that true?

Would there be any reward to be gained on my end by lying to you?

[Well, she supposes not.]

[That's a much more valid question.]

That is a more complicated answer. One could say it involves a curse. Or perhaps magic.

[Magic or a curse, is it? Now her curiosity's hooked and since he seems to be willing to give out answers.]

The... specifics of my circumstance are not ones I would prefer to go into on an open network. You'll have to forgive me if I err on the side of caution. I would, however, offer to discuss with you in person, if you're curious enough to meet.

Currently, Wyver. But if you'd be more comfortable meeting in the Station, I would not mind meeting up there.

[She considers that option for a moment.]

[Believe it or not, she feels safer there. Less... bottled up.]

Then, at your leisure, I would be happy to be interrogated about the realities of my, I suppose, oddness.
