This has been bothering me for a little while....

Back on my world there was a tyrant who was overthrown and killed. Before he died, he told the person who took him down "by killing me, you have doomed yourself." We never know exactly what he meant but then all of this happens. I just want to know if--

["if this is my fault" but she holds that back. There's a pause for a second or two before she continues.]

I want to know if anybody else here was warned about the end of your world. If there was any way to have seen this coming.

Not that it matters 'cause we all almost got killed by a flippin' weather pattern, cosmic shit or not, and now none of that exists anymore.

If your planet was trying to kill you then maybe moving here wasn't such a bad thing anyway.

[Actually, his planet did worse to him than try to kill him and he's glad it's gone, but that's neither here nor there.]

[Okay maybe not quite that many, but who is gonna fact-check him??] It ain't that weird.

Maybe not to you but nobody did it where I came from. Do you think you'd be able to leave this one?

I've been trying. There's just not a whole lot of spaceports, and Darma don't seem to be keen on sending out scouting missions.

Oh. [She actually sounds disappointed by that.] So, we really are all stuck here.

For now, anyway. Eventually, we're gonna overpopulate this planet and who knows what'll happen then, but until that actually becomes a concern, I don't think they're doing much worrying.

It's crap but it beats being dead, I guess.

When you put it that way, I suppose it is a little silly to complain about it.

Maybe, but I'm gonna do it anyway, 'cause it's what I do.

So you're saying you travel to different worlds and then complain about them?

For now though, she just gives a short laugh.]

It sounds exciting though.

Not when it's all you ever do. Traveling to different places and bitching about the food, the booze, and the locals is kiiinda the average where I used to be from.

[He huffs.] So, of course, the second I can't do it no more, I feel like I took it all for granted.

I guess I don't know what that's like.
