001 Text | UN: M.Edgeworth | A public apology.

Good morning all,

Due to the technical difficulties that had taken place over the network yesterday, some of you may have received some rather...questionable photos from me. Please accept my sincere apology for sending them, It was sent in error, and wasn't meant to be interpreted as sexual in nature. If you have received such a text or photo from me, please kindly delete it. I am not the sort of man who sends unsolicited pictures to strangers.

I am aware that once something is out there on the network it is there forever.

[The way he worded that made the incriminating pictures sound far worse than they actually were.]

I can appreciate how upsetting it must have been to see them and how disappointed you must be given the consequences of my actions and the trouble I have caused.

Please be assured that I have taken all the necessary measures so that this type of mistake never happens again. I deeply regret it ever having happened at all and I am willing to do whatever it takes to correct the situation.

Apparently so. A few of my acquaintances have had the unfortunate luck of receiving such a thing and the original recipient didn't know anything about it.

... It's a natural assumption given you believe people would be 'upset' and 'disappointed'.

No. I mean, I was down to my underwear in one of them, but I don't think there was anything particularly erotic about it.

I assume people wouldn't want a photograph of a stranger's body without consenting to it. Hence the apology.

it feels weird that people would get so upset about what looks no different from themselves.

Do you really need such a long apology? I mean there's a point at which such things are more awkward than the offense involved.

I thought it would have been prudent to make a formal apology, lest anyone was upset by the situation. It is protocol, usually. Isn't it?

There is apologizing and missives that verge on groveling though.

And plus, my understanding is that this error afflicted multiple people, so any reasonable person would not take it amiss.

And also, there was likely no need to tell people who hadn't received such a photo about the potential sexual nature of them. Such things just invite unnecessary speculation.

Did it really come across that badly? I utilized the same format that I would have used back home on a city issue... Hm, perhaps it wasn't that transferable on a personal one?

I think you may have been right about that.

I would certainly say not. Since you say city issue, I am assuming you were a political figure back home? Or in some similar office?

But, either way, surely you know that such indiscretions should be kept on the down low?
Best to just play off any accidents that did happen as just human nature and a good joke between hopeful friends. And compensate anyone else who feels otherwise.

Unless this is some clever attempt to avoid blackmail by just having it all out in the open? Which is almost admirable in that case.

[ Dazai isn't pouting, per se. Yes he is. But you can't just made a post implying 'I sent nudes' online and not have a few people suffer crippling levels of curiosity!!! ]

Now I'm disappointed I didn't find anything exciting in my inbox!

[ Knowing full well he's going to get a rejection, Dazai tilts his head to the side with a thoughtful look on his face, and poses a question that ought to bring some color to Edgeworth's face. ]

[Oh goodness, who decided to turn on the video function for something that obviously should be handled over text?! Have an awkward embarrassed middle-aged man on the screen. He is blushing and scowling.]

Yes? I don't know you. What would make you think I would be comfortable sending you compromising photos of myself?

On top of that are you even old enough to be receiving such material from anybody?!

[ When the other end of the video feed clicks on Dazai isn't disappointed. He'd been aiming to garner a reaction, and if anything it appears he's hit his target right on the bullseye. A visible response of heated cheeks never does anyone a disservice, but the double whammy of that and a scowl that proclaims embarrassment has him swallowing down a devilish smirk.

This should be fun. ]

Everyone that's awoken and has a device is an adult, right? If you know that, then...

[ Judging by how Dazai's silly little quip sent Edgeworth straight into being a defensive blustering mess, it's not difficult to guess he's one of those upright citizens with a personality wound tight enough to snap. He's no stranger to those types and even coexisting in a workplace with them never stopped him from stirring the proverbial hornets nest, teasing and tormenting until he's pushed all of his target's buttons.

Why stop now when Edgeworth's reactions have been priceless so far? ]

Uwah. Just what I'd expect of an experienced older man, going straight for flattering my youthful looks!

[ Master of expressing any emotion but those he truly feels, Dazai averts his gaze and covers his mouth as though embarrassed. And while it's a complete lie, he effortlessly feigns the kind of flustered uncertainty that comes from being propositioned. ]

First the naughty pictures to strangers, then you put the moves on the rest of us!

[ What better way to scandalize this man than act like he's the one being put into a salacious position? ]

[All the theatrics only earned a deeper scowl, from him. Dazai's estimation of his was mostly correct.]
