Have any of you tried a fruit called the 'doreh'?
[It’s a brief question. Gaius addresses the network early in the morning, hopefully after people have eaten breakfast. There have been a few things on his mind for a while, so he might as well ask now before the network turns to death talk again.]
I spoke with one of the workers on Thesa before coming here, and he shared some with me. It’s a green fruit with several leaves, and it has a bumpy texture...you might have seen it before. When you slice into it, the juice is purple. It's delicious and tastes like honey and plum, but...if someone offers you the same fruit in a different color, you might want to be careful. I’ve heard the other colors of doreh have side effects that are...less than desirable.
[How ominous? He seems to know what’s going on, at least.]
With all the conversation topics we've had, I'd also like to ask...were you religious where you're from, or was your world religious? I've visited the temples here, and they're...unique. [It's so hard to pick just one word.] I've been thinking about my own faith...a lot changes when you end up on a different world, doesn't it?
[He pauses for a moment, and then shakes his head slightly.]
Haha...it sounds a little heavy when I phrase it like that, but I'm still interested in hearing about your worlds if I haven't lost you all yet.

voice;
[ something tells him he probably shouldn't ask, but he can't deny he's a little curious: ] Do you know more about these side effects? [ ...he's already been acquainted with how odd this world's flora and fauna can be, so the more he knows the better. ]
voice;
[Ahaha. But then there's the other one. Gaius, in a rare show of discomfort, rubs the back of his neck.]
The effects are only temporary, but the other kind I was told about...I'm not sure how to phrase it.
voice;
Try me.
voice;
Physical arousal.
[That gets the point across nice and succinctly, right? That's not awkward at all.]
I'm sure a fruit like that has its uses, but finding it accidentally could be...inconvenient, I imagine.
voice;
[ he just gives a long, very audible sigh on his end. you can almost hear him shaking his head. ]
This world really seems to have a affinity for such things.
voice;
[He walked in on them. It was not his proudest hour.]
I'll admit, it's a lot more...aggressive about these things here than back home, but it's their culture. If it's worked for them, I shouldn't expect them to change.
[He'll have to get used encountering casual sex in the temples. What a task.]
voice;
You're rather accepting. And if they require your participation in their... "worship"... would you really be alright with that?
Sorry for the late reply, I took a break because of the heat.
[How does he even answer that? He rubs his chin.]
If they asked me to participate, I'd have to turn them down politely. I'm interest more in learning about this world, but I wouldn't feel comfortable since I'm not a true believer like them.
no worries
[ he's never been the type to beat around the bush, at any rate. ]
A good answer. We may need to cooperate with these people, but there's no need to get caught up in their nonsense. [ a bit harsh, but what else are you supposed to call it? ] Unfortunately, the longer we remain here, the more likely it becomes that we need to. Old cultures are rarely tolerant of outsiders.
Re: no worries
[At times, he can be a bit shamelessly honest himself, but he talks about his feelings, not about sex.]
You may have a point there. I'm not really sure I can guess how this could turn out; I didn't exactly grow up surrounded by large groups of people. Is that how cultures behave where you're from, sir?
no subject
[ honestly, he's a bit suspicious of the warm welcome; it feels like only a matter of time until the other shoe drops. ]
But this is a different world... who knows? Perhaps their values are just different.
no subject
[And isn't that strange, too?]
Haha...their values definitely are different, we already know that. Though to what extent...I guess we'll have to wait and see.
no subject
[ he is definitely worrying about it already. and that much is probably apparent in his tone. ]
As long as they keep their strange fruit away from me, anyway.
no subject
[It's just one word. Gaius doesn't know this man well enough to pry, but from the context and the tone he wants to hear if there's more there.]
Haha...well, we're in agreement there. I'm sure my address would've gone much differently if I'd had purple skin.
[Or if he'd been aphrodisiac'd. But he's not thinking about that.]
no subject
[ not to mention the occasional whisperings of their conflict with some other group. ]
...hm, well, perhaps you could pull that look off. [ weirder stuff has happened. ]
guess who watched all of ubw and half of zero since your last tag
[How he'd love to insist on peace and friendship like he can at home. But this isn't his home world, and he's not a child.]
You think so? I'll have to consider it if I ever feel like standing out.
dang... live good, not long
[ sadly not everywhere can be as chill as the nord highlands. ]
Regardless, I owe you one for the useful information. [ about the fruit, at least; he might have ended up trying one otherwise. ] I'll find some way to repay this debt.
sobs i'm caught up in apocrypha now, too, i went hard...too hard
[He feels like he might be able to learn something from him, actually. It's best to be open to all ways of thinking, even if only to support your own.]
Normally, I'd say there's no need, but I enjoyed speaking to you. Could I ask for your name so I know how to greet you next time?
the fate anime triple crown
[ just that... even though there's no need to hide his true name here, it's still not one he wants to give out willingly. ]
And you? [ he normally doesn't care enough to ask others their names, but he owes this guy one so he should probably have something to call him by, other than "aphro fruit kid." ]
no subject
Gaius Worzel, but you can call me Gaius, of course.
[He'd never expect an elder to use his full name. And he definitely doesn't want to be called 'aphro fruit kid.' Ever.]
Until next time, then. Archer.
