[ This was the first time Reign used the network, and thus the video feed began with a view of himself. He waved at the screen with a polite smile, fangs peeking out slightly. ]

It seems this is a good place to ask for name suggestions, and I've seen a few people do that. I've recently gotten myself a new pet, though strangely hatched from an egg when he's a mammalian creature. Ah, let me introduce him.

[ Reign would disappear from view for a bit, then reemerged with a petite looking giraffe in the palm of his hands. ]

Anyway, other than names, I'm not certain what kind of diet a giraffe should eat. I've been letting him drink milk, which works well, but I don't know if he eats other kind of food. Would grass work? Vegetables, perhaps?

[ The giraffe raised its head, and Reign happily leaned down to let his pet kiss him on the cheek. ]

Aaaah~ Isn't he adorable?

A twig, huh? I guess you may be right. He's so tiny he doesn't need to eat much. Is that what giraffes usually eat? Twigs?

They eat the branches and leaves off of tall leaves and vegetation. I am sure they wouldn't have given him to you if he wasn't possible to feed though.

Hm, you're right. There's no such animal like him in my world, so I've no idea about the diet or care for giraffes. But branches and leaves seem easy enough to obtain.

Say, do you have any name suggestions for the giraffe?

[ Hopeful eyes staring at William. ]

I've never seen one back home, though there are pictures. They're from a continent far to the south of the island I'm from.

[He blinks for a moment and thinks.]

Lamarck.

Ah, so you're at least familiar with giraffes.

[ A pause, because that was quite an odd sounding name. Reign tilted his head, repeating the name a few times to test its pronunciation. ]

Lamarck, huh? Does it carry any meaning behind it?

[notsolomon]

[William raised an eyebrow, but he's more than happy to explain of course.]

It's the name of a famous naturalist dead before my time, Jean-Baptiste Lamarck. He was an important figure in the theory of evolution and was a premier authority on the study of invertebrates. It's an important name. Though I suppose it might be bit much for the little guy.

[ Reign's eyes widened as he listened to William's explanation. The name sounded so amazing, and it did indeed sounded a bit too awesome for the tiny giraffe.

He chuckled, nodding. ]

I guess so. But it does sound like a fascinating name.

What do you think, huh? [ The question was posed to the giraffe, and his pet merely let out a soft cry that could be anything from a yes, to maybe. ]

Then again, giraffes are vertebrates, so it mightn't be suitable.

Oh perhaps not then, though he did do some work classifying those as well.

[It's a cute creature though, that much William can admit.]

Have you thought ab out naming it after a perfume you like?

[ William's question made Reign ponder, humming softly as he glanced towards his pet giraffe off screen. ]

I honestly have not given that a thought before. Rather than a perfume, probably a scent instead. He does smell warm. Almost earthy in some ways. I'll take your suggestion into consideration. Thank you, William.
