002 - audio; un: mad-dog

[hannya]

[There's a bit of rustling and grumbling as Majima tries to set up his communicator; he doesn't use it as often as he should, so jumping back into a public posting has something of a learning curve. Finally, he clears his throat and gets down to business.]

So one crazy party made everyone on this planet real goddamn tense for the past few weeks. Thought they were used to that kinda thing.

Anyway, I don't really get this place's politics, but I do know it's been tough to get a place to stay in Olympia lately if you're livin' in Wyver. I don't really give a shit where you live, and I got an open couch, so if you need somewhere to crash for a day or two, I'm offerin'.

[He switches briefly to video, just to show the main room of his rather humble apartment, where a living room breaks off into a kitchenette. The only real decorations are an overflowing ashtray and a weird cookie jar on the kitchen counter.]

It ain't much, but you'll have it to yourself most nights. I work until last call. Just drop a line if you're interested. Er, only one person a night, obviously.

Yeah, you and me both. It's amazing how quickly opinions change. Not that that really surprised me or anything but it's still pretty impressive.

[She's thoroughly pessimistic when it comes to any set of nations abilities to get along with one another.]

You think so? I wouldn't be too surprised really. Politics always has some kind of money in it anyhow.

[Though from what Cree had said to her, it seemed more likely it was just simple "I think I'm right and you're dumb." Money probably played into that idea too though.]

Exactly what I mean. They can talk about dragons and pride all they want, but that shit costs silver, too.

No kidding. They have to have people to help care for the dragons and all. It's not bad work though.

Yeah. I used to work security for Shades Darker but I'm not exactly getting a warm welcome around here anymore so...

The dragons are a lot more fun to tangle with than a buncha drunk creeps.

They have better personalities, that's for sure. Even the moodiest dragon isn't as tedious as some people.

Nothin' tedious about fire breath. Helped wrangle a couple of 'em when Olympia got quarantined. Dunno how they manage to stick things that big in kennels.

Yeah? I helped chase a few back into pens too... or got chased by them actually.

I'd say it's mostly training but it seems a good bit of cooperation on the dragons' parts too.

They do seem pretty smart. Dunno why they'd let themselves get used like that.

Must be something mutual to it, I'm not really sure. The whelps are nice enough as babies.

Wish this place didn't hate givin' us history lessons so damn much, then maybe we'd have a clue on how to deal with this shit.

To be fair, I ain't much of a reader. But we got more than a few bookworms around.
