002 - audio; un: mad-dog

[hannya]

[There's a bit of rustling and grumbling as Majima tries to set up his communicator; he doesn't use it as often as he should, so jumping back into a public posting has something of a learning curve. Finally, he clears his throat and gets down to business.]

So one crazy party made everyone on this planet real goddamn tense for the past few weeks. Thought they were used to that kinda thing.

Anyway, I don't really get this place's politics, but I do know it's been tough to get a place to stay in Olympia lately if you're livin' in Wyver. I don't really give a shit where you live, and I got an open couch, so if you need somewhere to crash for a day or two, I'm offerin'.

[He switches briefly to video, just to show the main room of his rather humble apartment, where a living room breaks off into a kitchenette. The only real decorations are an overflowing ashtray and a weird cookie jar on the kitchen counter.]

It ain't much, but you'll have it to yourself most nights. I work until last call. Just drop a line if you're interested. Er, only one person a night, obviously.

Hey, don't people like the pots look these days? Makes your place look rustic.

But where's it at? Apparently I need to brighten the place up if anyone wants to stop by.

Do they? I dunno! The plants probably like the ground better though.

We live in Wyver now! It's not hard to find our place. We're still in the process of fixing it up.

[hannya]

Guess things would be better for plants over there. Definitely more than people. They're not givin' you any shit for comin' from Olympia, are they?

[zephrah]

A little, but we're keeping our heads down. Trying to stay neutral. I have a feeling it's not gonna be easy, but...

I've kind of had enough of wars, I don't know if I want to make someone else's my own.

[hannya]

I feel ya there. But don't let 'em bully you, alright?

[zephrah]

I won't, I promise.

Do you want me to set some plants aside for you?

[hannya]

Eh, why not? If I'm gonna open this place up, guess I better put a little more effort into decoratin'.

[zephrah]

I can put together something pretty low maintenance, if you like?

[hannya]

Probably a good idea, for the plant's sake. Like a cactus or something.

[zephrah]

I've got lots of those! Succulents, too.

[hannya]

...You have what, now?

[zephrah]

Succulents? They're like...they're kind of like cactuses, but they don't have spines, and they come in all these weird neat shapes.

[hannya]

[There's a pause of relief. He isn't sure what he thought she meant, but he knows better than to try and explain it.]

Oh. Didn't exactly come from a dry place, so you'll have to show me.
