Is it just me or are things starting to get a little unpleasant around here?

[She sighs out some. Not that she hadn't expected Olympia and Wyver to start not getting along again of course but it's still pretty annoying.]

I've been outright ignored in a few places in Olympia. Don't ask me exactly what I did to get that kind of treatment because I don't have a clue.

[Now to the meat of why she's drifted onto the network after having not touched it for this long. Her tone actually sounds pretty curious.]

Have any of the rest of you run into anything? Olympia, Wyver, wherever.

I wonder if something happened to upset them...the only major event that happened recently that I can think of is the gala.

to be honest, though, i did hear some mutterings about how the gala was a waste of time that could have been better spent fixing up the town. it was why i'd offered to help and found out about how they see me now.

because people are dumb and life is confusing.

I swear, people will take any excuse they can get to complain.

[She sighs out, more than a little exasperated.]

At least Wyver isn't terrible so it's no trouble just settling in there.

honestly, there's something about wyver that feels like home.

and i promised someone i'd come back there after finishing up repairs here. if no one here wants my help i might as well come over there anyway.

If you're going in the next few days, we can travel together. It's not like I have much to pack up anyhow.

i was going to use my bike to get over there. it'll be a bit of a bumpy ride, since it's not completely tested, but it's sturdy enough.

it was a bicycle once.

now it's a motorcycle.

[yes, that's exactly what it sounds like. yusei literally slapped a steam engine and some plating on a bike frame and made it a motorcycle.]

it's got an attachment on it i use for transporting stuff. there's a bench built into it, so it makes it easy for stacking things or giving guests a ride.

[A motorcycle? That's beyond her time period and she can't really picture it in her mind. She can't help the amusement in her voice though.]

Sounds exciting. Or at least faster.

the only thing that bugs me is that steam engines aren't as efficient as i'd like, so i have to refill it every ten miles or so. it's still better than walking when i'm trying to move pieces of equipment, but it's not something i've gotten completely used to yet.

I see. I need to get around to buying a mount myself some day.

they'd probably be more reliable than the motorcycle at this point. i just don't want to leave the prototype behind if i leave, you know.

what kind of mount are you considering?

I'm not sure. At home people usually used ostrich horses for everyday travel. I never rode them much but then again we usually always had a carriage.

i'm afraid i only know about...regular horses.

Think of a big bird. They have two legs instead of four like horses do. Otherwise they're more or less the same.

but then what makes them different from ostriches, though? do they have horse features or something?

kind of like how you described them. big bird, two feet. i don't think they'd be big enough to be used the same way as a horse, though, although they probably could pull something like a small cart if you could tame one.

Huh. Might look about the same then but bigger. I don't think we have just ostriches at home. There are bears though, which is pretty weird.

bears are considered weird where you're from?

[they sound like a normal animal to him. not like he's ever seen a real one. but. bears.]

Well I mean, it was just a bear. Not a polar bear, polar bear dog, gopher bear, platypus bear, skunk bear or an armadillo bear. Just... a bear.

out of everything you've just mentioned, the only one I'm even remotely familiar with is a polar bear.

[for one thing, that's an actual species.]
