Is it just me or are things starting to get a little unpleasant around here?

[She sighs out some. Not that she hadn't expected Olympia and Wyver to start not getting along again of course but it's still pretty annoying.]

I've been outright ignored in a few places in Olympia. Don't ask me exactly what I did to get that kind of treatment because I don't have a clue.

[Now to the meat of why she's drifted onto the network after having not touched it for this long. Her tone actually sounds pretty curious.]

Have any of the rest of you run into anything? Olympia, Wyver, wherever.

I have seen and heard some unpleasant things toward Olympian from those in Wyver. The festival did not seem to mend any fences.

Don't offer them respect if they don't show you any. But, that said, it isn't odd for two nations to not get along with each other.

I've had a similar reaction going to Wyver...they didn't seem to want my help at all.

Nope, not with those games and all that. It seemed more like another competition than anything.

That's good advice. It hasn't really bothered me but hey, I figured it would be good to see if it was happening to everyone.

It's not that unusual but... well, it would sort of be nice for once if they did. At least in my opinion.

[She's so used to nations not getting along. And then just when things were tentatively getting better at home, it sort of stopped existing altogether. If the Natha were to be believed.]

I guess it goes the other way around then too. I figured as much but it's nice to get some confirmation. Wyver's been pretty nice to me but I haven't really done anything to deserve that either.

[The whole thing is a mystery to her. If she were a native of either town she'd get it but it's pretty well known by now, at least in those of the native populace who would recognize her, that she's a refugee.]

I have had a similar response in Wyver. The conflict is building between them, that truce was only temporary. Soon, they are going to find excuses to go to war.

I can't say it's really surprising. I'm mostly curious about how they decide which refugee supports who. I mean unless you're pretty overt with it, it seems like that would be a little difficult right now.

Around places of business mostly. The natives didn't seem that thrilled to see me either, at least when I spoke to any of them.

[ It isn't often that 76 does anything other than lurk on the network, but this is a subject that catches his interest. Since the original poster (Mai, apparently) kept to voice, he does the same. Less questions that way, maybe. ]

Have you decided to settle in Wyver? Or shown your dedication to them in any way? That might be enough to ruffle some feathers.

[ 76 had known that playing nice could only last so long, and so it only figures that some of the refugees would begin to feel that judgment from the natives. He hasn't been back to Olympia himself, but he knows for a fact he wouldn't receive a warm welcome. ]

Food mostly. I've been traveling a lot between here and Wyver so I was stocking up.

To be honest I'll probably just start staying in Wyver now. At least they haven't given me any problems.

Well... during the gala they were putting pins on people and throwing us into teams. I ended up in Wyver so I guess that may have done it.

[At that the woman gives an exhausted sigh.]

I WILL NOT PRESUME TO TELL WHAT IS BEST, BUT I WOULD BE MORE THAN WILLING TO OBTAIN THE FOOD ITEMS YOU WERE HOPING TO GET HERE IN OLYMPIA AND BRING THEM TO YOU.

Not yet, but there's no telling what may be out there. What exactly did you see?

It will at least give them a taste of their own medicine because they might get joy out of treating you poorly.

I'm sure that it would be. Maybe one day they will get along.

It's more what I experienced than saw. I tried to do some food shopping before I traveled out of town again and several of the vendors in the marketplace just outright ignored me.

[She huffs a breath.]

It's more annoying than it is depressing or anything like that.

[Bless. A smile actually slips onto her face, a little too easily and naturally for one who looks so eternally grumpy. Thankfully that goes unseen, though it reflects some in her tone.]

People are so strange. Where's the fun in being mean to others. It's just more work to do and who wants to do more work for people you don't like.

[Maybe a tiny bit of hypocrisy there. She hasn't always been known for being nice to others after all. She's never exactly been mean though, just blunt and grumpy.]

Seems like a pretty petty reason to start shunning people.

[ 76 hadn't been at the gala, so this is information worth filing away. It doesn't sound like Mai had made the choice so much as had it assigned to her. ]

Have you tried to reason with them at all?

[The words drop out bluntly and blandly. She pauses a moment after them to add:]

I tried a few different places. After I figured out it was more than one person doing it, I just went back to Wyver. I don't have the energy to argue with people like that.

Unfortunately, I can not give you an answer to that, it's not one that I've experienced nor have I been given any data on it.
