I wanted to ask a serious question, if everyone didn't mind.

Has anyone else woken up with new memories before? Is it a normal occurrence, or is it a fluke? Maybe magic?

I seem to have gotten new ones.

[ Even though she's just got done sleeping, she's still tired? Poor Pike! ]

It's no problem at all, Vex. I'm sure he misses you too.

[Hey, she's a bit older than she was the last time.]

[ It's a voice only channel, so Pike can't see Vex almost trip, mouth opening in almost automatic denial as her cheeks colour.

Except its Pike.

And besides, if she doesn't say anything out loud, she doesn't have to take it back later. ]

[ The small apartments they occupy literally have not changed in the 3 days Pike went under, save maybe a touch more mess, more thrown open doors and piled high blankets in the central area. The twins have never been good about separation, and Keyleth had been here alone before they all woke up; no surprise they'd cling harder when another member of their family went back to sleep.

Vex, in the midst of rebraiding her hair, is leaning against the counter waiting for the hot water's whistle. There's a fresh pot of tea waiting with her, and the promise of ale somewhere else later can wait a while. ]

[Pike would never say anything if Vex had tripped - you don't point out anyone's flaws like that, especially a friend's. Besides, Vex was practically perfect in every way, and people like that never tripped. So essentially, it didn't happen. Problem solved.

It's still a bit before Pike reaches the door, and almost out of habit she knocks so no one gets startled.] Hello?

[ Give Vex, and the rest of Vox Machina, view Pike that way, clearly they are all practically perfect and have no flaws what so ever!

..Yeah, no. But it's okay to look the other way when it's a friend.

The kettle gives a shrill whistle in response to Pike's query at the door (good timing!), causing Vex to jump. Pensive expression melts away at one, and the half-elf straightens immediately. ]

In here, Pike!

[Everything seemed like how she remembered it, which was good. Very good. It made her feel a bit more at ease now that she was back. There was a part of her that just didn't want to go through any more change.

The door closes behind her, and Pike immediately heads for the kitchen.] Vex! God, I'm glad to see you.

Pike!

[ One name, so many inflections when saying it. Almost immediately, Vex is moving to drop to her knees next to her friend, all the better to be eye to eye, arms reaching instinctively as relief to see her friend is here, is back, crosses her face. ]

Oh, it’s so good to see you too, dear.

[She gives her dear friend one of the tightest hugs she can muster before pulling back. There's a tired look in Pike's eyes, but one that's mixed in with happiness. There's a few more lines on her face, just a tiny bit older than she was when she left.]

You're okay? Everyone's okay? I didn't miss anything, did I?

[ The hug is returned with all the strength Vex can muster; not as much as Pike, true, but still a lot! When she does pull back, her smile is bright, even as her gaze maps Pike’s face. It’s strange, how a little bit of sleep can add lines like that. ]

You were asleep 3 days. I’d say that’s not enough to make a difference, but we both know that’s not true where our family is concerned. [squeezes Pike’s shoulder gently] Fortunately in this case, it’s true. You haven’t missed that gala they announced, in the very least.

How are you feeling?

Three days is a lot, honestly! [She couldn't help but laugh - Vox Machina could get into worse scrapes in three days than anyone else could in their lifetime. Trouble seemed to follow them all no matter how much they tried.]

I'm good. Tired, but good. [You'd think sleeping three days you wouldn't be as tired, but here she was.] Tell me everything that's happened, even the smallest thing.
