Magic existed in my universe in many forms; I am most familiar with it as quintessence.

There is still much to learn of my own ability, but I know my father had been a great alchemist.

So you would treat alchemy as magic rather than science? At least, that's how you categorized it where you came from?

It was a science that drew upon Altean use of magic.

[fiendennor]

So it blended magic and technology? I had a professor who studied that kind of "modern magic," actually.

I would say we developed our technology around our magical ability, or what we understand of both.

I would not necessarily consider it modern; my people had been doing it for thousands of years.

[fiendennor]

I see.
Has it not been modernized since?

[juniberries]

My planet had been destroyed long before the Storm came to our universe.
I am one of the last of my people.

[fiendennor]

I'm very sorry to hear that. You have my deepest sympathies. That must be very lonely.

[juniberries]

It is difficult, but I have friends and companions I now consider family.
Some of them still remain in stasis, however.

But I apologize...you were asking about magic? What is it like in your world?

[fiendennor]

I'm glad, then, that some of them do not. Magic in my world had been fading. There was once a great Golden Age of Magic where magic was abundant and witches were respected members of society who helped those without magic of their own. Over centuries, that time came to an end, and magic began to fade. It still existed, mind you, as did witches and our education, but it was in danger of becoming something of a relic.
