[A hundred different questions present themselves all at once at this revelation, but Ned can't seem to wrap his mind around any of them long enough to ask. Eventually, he settles on:]

[ To himself, Maximus laughs. Honestly, this is sort of delightful. He gets to be the face of the Inhumans for all of these people, and he can prove his point that hiding for so long was unnecessary. ]

I promise we're not heartless brutes. To put it as simply as I can, our genetics are a little different. While we look human and act human, and very nearly are, we're a different strand of evolution.

The concept is a bit hard to explain to someone with no basic knowledge of biology or genetics.

Not that I mean any offence, of course. The science I'm used to where I'm from is simply more advanced, and that's no fault of yours.

I suppose, in some sort of way, you could think of it almost like magic. We Inhumans have something special inside of us that gives us unique powers, or abilities.
