un: French revolution ❦ video
[It's a day or so since he's arrived in Wyver and you'd think Enjolras might have something to say about the advanced technology, the breath-taking scenery, the ravenous creatures all determined to eat everyone-]
The honor of nations consists in being free and virtuous, in striking down tyrants and avenging reviled humanity.
[-or not.
You might mistake the age of the fiery-eyed young blond, he looks so young, except there's a gravity in his voice as he speaks and a serious set to his brow.]
I do not know you, fellow citizens, nor you me. I will introduce myself. My family name is Enjolras. I have five and twenty years and before the Storm I was a student of law in Paris.
We are from different lands, have lived different lives, pursued different goals- but now we are all here. If this is to be our home now, so be it. The Natha in their Space Ship have saved us and brought us to live here. So we shall live; we must. There are some forces against which men cannot fight and this must be one of them.
But there are other matters against which we must stand. There are, in this land, two names that are an affront to anyone who would be free. Two names that, by their very existence, threaten the life we are to lead here. They are the very antithesis of everything towards which free people strive, as they stand in the way of free people ruling themselves.
These names are 'king' and 'empress'.
[He doesn't have time to go into why these things are terrible. It's disconcerting to speak to no-one, to have no response. But he expects others will respond and it is to them directly that he plans to make his arguments. He has seen other conversations on the network, approved of this free and open means of communication. He'll use it for himself.]
There are some of you who have been awake longer than I. It may be that I am wrong in my assumptions. The names king and empress may be different from the titles I was familiar with in my former life. I can only hope it is so. I welcome all details you have. If you fear speaking of such things publicly I am willing to meet in person to exchange information.
[He gives a formal nod and cuts the feed.]
[It's been less than a week someone tell him to chill out.]

True, you'd likely be facing a civil war or broader. In that case, the more unrest you can sew, the better your odds.
You wouldn't be alone in that cause.
[It's not Takasugi's concern, at the moment, but Cree and his men had done so much in an attempt to shake the allegiances of the refugees - the scale only stands to be broadened.]
no subject
As for the others, your methods are the right ones.
[He hesitates when reading the last line. Does this person put himself forward as an ally?]
You have experience with this?
no subject
[A radical statement, to be sure, but that seems to be the language this man speaks.]
Do you? Are you a soldier of revolution, or a preaching lobbyist in the streets?
[Takasugi has a wealth of experience in these matters, but he's more interested in the impassioned youth than in regaling the man of his own stories.]
no subject
But you are right. Violence gravitates to power, and so autocratic rule will never succeed.
I? I preach revolution, if that is the only option available. I am a lobbyist for democratic rule. If it is the savage who sit on the throne, I believe we must be savage in overthrowing them.
I also note you have not answered my question.
no subject
You've said it well. Violence gravitates to power. And power to violence.
[Not the cautious sort, is this man?]
Spill the blood of those who make the world an awful place, until it's livable? Sounds like you've got quite the endeavor ahead of you.
Not that I think you're misplacing your efforts. [He'd go so far as to agree - except the guilt for the world's suffering lies with the world itself, rather than those who inhabit it.
So there's quite a lot of savagery to be done.]
I've led an army against the established government when they sought to undermine their people. I've kept the flames of that war burning for years, until they rose high enough to singe the hair atop the head of the country.
[Not that he feels passion in his boasting, the product a world consumed not by the fire of a burning nation but a nebulous storm.]
no subject
I would set fires blazing to melt the crowns that sit on the heads of the country.
But we should meet, monsieur.
i have a catch all do u want me to write us a starter??
But this has accomplished its purpose - meeting a man whose passion he's familiar with.]
Sounds like quite the sight to behold. I'd hate to miss it.
Let's. [ Insert name of sort of sketchy Wyver bar here.] I'll be there. [Every night, until he slips away to Olympia in a week's time.]
