So many here tell of their closeness to their siblings, to the great joy that their siblings bring them. I could not agree more with such sentiment, for the richness that my own bring me has always far outweighed any great burden they've put on me (and some have put burden upon me indeed!).
But, in that great sentiment, I must say that I have put off announcing my own brother has indeed left, and so any friend he may have had here, I ask you make yourself known to me. My brother is Edmund Pevensie, and I should like to thank you, and ask you be my friend too.
And, if you did not know him, I would say, then meet me for my own sake. I am long in introducing myself, and I feel quite badly for the delay. I am Lucy Pevensie, and most grateful to make your acquaintance.

[She laughs a little.]
Every world is strange.

[ A little wave of his fingers - ]
Though desire for genetic purity is perhaps the strangest of all, in an era of gene-cleaning. Ah, well.

What should I do? Speak to him?

I wish to know his intentions.

How could I guess such a thing?

I want him to court me.

[She thinks if it was Edmund, she would have asked.

Why, yes, I'm glad to hear that it would be no hardship, certainly.

You are most kind to me. Is that reward enough?

[ He reaches up to touch the spot. ]
I'd been hoping for brandy, but that's more intoxicating by far. It'll do.

[She's giggling - it's cute.]

[ He taps the tip of his nose. ]
Right here.

You are most precious to me, you know.

[ Oh. He blinks in surprise, stooping slightly so she can hug him more comfortably. Again, there's that little twinge of pain, of discomfort. Playing around with affectionate kisses is all well and good, but -
Precious. No. No, he's not...Well.
He plays it off as best he can with a laugh. ]
How kind you are, dear Lucy. But how precious can I be when I'm bought for the price of two kisses?
no subject
You garner a much higher charge than that.
I do not think I am so capable to pay it.
[She's reaching for his arm again, curving her hand over his elbow.]
