Yeah, unless the page gets taken down, I guess. But usually someone's got a backup somewhere, and there's always datamining to get the stuff back if you can get to the servers and they haven't been purged or something.

But it also means you get a lot of crap floating out there. Like why would I care about some old ass video of hamsters singing?? I don't even get what people were thinking back then.

In a sense. We merely have books and word of mouth to keep history and well, if disaster strikes it is often lost.

And there has been a lot of stories and history that has been lost to such things where I come from.

[He can't really fathom that happening now. The Internet has made the loss of information nearly impossible, for better or for worse. But he remembers reading about something like that in history class when he was halfway paying attention. Something about a library some dude named Alex owned burning down.]
