[ Look who's finally figured out how to use the video feature! Though, admittedly, he's still hesitant about this particular function, and it shows on his face as he sits in front of the camera, looking at the image of himself before he remembers he's making one of these moving picture things. ]

I am aware that, with this relocation, there are many new changes for all of us to grow used to. I'd like, if I can, to make myself available. To anything anyone might need. A job or something similar. Something like that.

[ Gods be, why did he choose to make this a video? This must be the part where he lists his skills and qualifications. As a man who's never had to work a day in his life, his applicable skill, he knows, might be for an acquired profession. ]


If there are hunting parties seeking another member, I'm no stranger to the hunt. I am accomplished tournament knight. I've proven my merit on the battlefield, and I was designated Lord Commander of my king's Rainbow Guard. [ The guard may have been short lived, but even to this day, Loras feels he still holds the position. In his heart of hearts.

There's a long pause. ]

If you think I may be of use to you, I'd like to help. Any way I can. [ And then the screen goes dark. ]

I'm guessing people don't tease you much. Or flirt, for that matter.

[ Sometimes those read as the same thing. Either way, they tend to be his staple demeanors around new people. ]

And about giving you a lesson or two-
You'll help more people with the skills to hunt than without them.

[ He's not about to cut his nose off to spite his face and turn down Mr. Knight's offer of help. ]

[ That does make sense. Another skill is nothing to scoff at, and if the offer is there, then he ought to take it. ]

It's a date, then! [ Still teasing. ] And how about cooking?

[ The mafia teaches plenty of atypical tricks for survival. Setting booby-traps for people snooping around where they shouldn't is just one of many. Applying that to animals should work the same way.

And if sharing that knowledge gets him a meal or two - then it's worth the extra effort. ]

Do knights get lessons on how to season their catch?

[ Dazai can't drown everything in ajinomoto here. So he's hoping for a little help in that department. ]

If not... What else are you proficient at, Mr. Rainbow Knight?

Some do, yes.

[ Loras is not one of those some. Being who he is, and being so close to the brother of a king and a king-to-be, Loras has never really had to worry about it.
He's always had someone there to do it for him. ]

I am learning with each passing day.

[cassus]

Fair enough. [ He shrugs, unbothered by this. ] We'll worry about catching something first.

[ Dazai's idea of self-seasoning is covering his meals in msg, so who is he to judge? ]

Though we will need supplies to make the traps I have in mind.

[ He starts a little list, scribbling on a scrap piece of paper. ]

Think you could scrounge up some long lengths of rope?

[ Uh. ]

I wouldn't know where to start.

Hm. Unfortunately most traps call for it, but...

We could try a different route. [ Dazai thoughtfully taps his chin. ]

Finding branches and carving the ends into a makeshift spears is another option.

That seems reasonable.

[cassus]

We'll need the branches to be at least an arm's length long. No cheating.

[ Dazai scribbles other notes, contemplating further supplies. ]

Anything smaller puts you too close to your prey, if you're holding it.

[ He's relieved that they've set a solid plan in place, despite the hurdles that come with hunting without pre-made weapons. ]

Spears are a little like javelins, so this should be right up your alley, hm?

Yes, I think I can handle a javelin.

Excellent. And since you're so good at it, how about a lesson or two?

[ Sure they won't be on horseback when they hunt, and he could probably wing it - But there's something pleasant about letting someone bask in their talents. Besides, three guesses an actual knight holds pride in his skills and would like showing them off, now that tournaments are likely out of the picture. ]

I bet there's a precise way how you hold it level and keep your balance.

[ Oh. That sounds perfect. Loras has been itching for a sword but something like a lance is just as good. He nods his agreement. ]

Yes, of course. I'd be happy to show you.

[cassus]

[ Interacting with someone whose code involves chivalry and knighthood could do Dazai a world of good. Loras might even inspire a bit of improved behavior in him, since Dazai tends to be something of a cadly ragamuffin when left to his own devices.

That and he's in desperate need of a meal, so this is certainly a win-win arrangement for him. ]

[ In the interim he'll be gathering up all of those necessary supplies to fashion those makeshift spears for the both of them. ]
