[ Look who's finally figured out how to use the video feature! Though, admittedly, he's still hesitant about this particular function, and it shows on his face as he sits in front of the camera, looking at the image of himself before he remembers he's making one of these moving picture things. ]

I am aware that, with this relocation, there are many new changes for all of us to grow used to. I'd like, if I can, to make myself available. To anything anyone might need. A job or something similar. Something like that.

[ Gods be, why did he choose to make this a video? This must be the part where he lists his skills and qualifications. As a man who's never had to work a day in his life, his applicable skill, he knows, might be for an acquired profession. ]


If there are hunting parties seeking another member, I'm no stranger to the hunt. I am accomplished tournament knight. I've proven my merit on the battlefield, and I was designated Lord Commander of my king's Rainbow Guard. [ The guard may have been short lived, but even to this day, Loras feels he still holds the position. In his heart of hearts.

There's a long pause. ]

If you think I may be of use to you, I'd like to help. Any way I can. [ And then the screen goes dark. ]

Beyond my training as a knight and knowing my courtly duties as a lord and heir to my house, I admit my skill set is lacking. I know well enough what words to say and who to say them to. My sister is better at it than I.

[vorrutyer]

I see. And exactly what sort of life do you aspire to here?

[triplerose]

I want the same life I used to have. [ Obviously. What sort of question is that? ]

[vorrutyer]

Well, I don't wish to break your heart, but that won't happen. What sort of life will you accept?

[triplerose]

Nothing short of what I and my sister are deserving of.

[ They'll climb themselves as high as they can, just you wait and see. ]

[vorrutyer]

Oh, no doubt. But many in life don't get what they deserve. Particularly not when they're left stateless, homeless, and on the run from an intergalactic darkness.

[triplerose]

Many in life are not us.

[vorrutyer]

Perhaps so. So what's your plan?

[triplerose]

First, I think, let things settle. This has been a month of many changes.

[vorrutyer]

And then?

[ C'mon, Loras, how much of a planner are you? ]

[triplerose]

[ Loras is not a planner. He's not clever enough for that. ]

And then we'll see where we all stand, when the dust settles.

[vorrutyer]

Shall I check in with you again once it does?

[triplerose]

If it pleases you.

[vorrutyer]

Oh, very much so. I'd like you to find happiness.

[triplerose]

That may the kindest thing someone's said to me in some time.

[vorrutyer]

Really? I don't like the sound of that at all. A fellow like you deserves all sort of care.

[triplerose]

That is sweet of you to say. Truly.

[ It's hard not to look pleased. ]

[vorrutyer]

Well, aren't you going to say something sweet back?

[triplerose]

I wasn't aware you wanted me to.

[vorrutyer]

Well, of course I do. An admirable fellow like yourself, all full of the most delightfully good qualities, chivalrous and knightly, saying a kind word in my lowly ear? I'd like that very much.

[triplerose]

I'm not certain anything I say could compare. [ Also, Loras is terrible at this. It's his reputation that woos and wins people, not his words. It's obvious in his hesitation that he's feeling a bit clueless on the matter. ]

You're quite sweet. For saying it all. I think your judgment is misplaced, though.

[vorrutyer]

[ A lightly disapproving cluck of his tongue - ]

Dear fellow, that was the weakest compliment I ever heard. Do a bit better than that! Tell me I'm handsome and eloquent, at the very least.

[triplerose]

[ Loras stammers a bit. He looks to the side of the screen, and, yes, he is handsome, but Loras is wary about admitting it. It's gotten him in trouble before. ]

Will that not be insincere? Saying it because you've told me to?

[vorrutyer]

[ Byerly grins, his expression bordering on predatory. Clearly enjoying the fellow's shyness. ]

Would it be a lie? It would only be insincere if it's a lie.

No - Of course not. It wouldn't be a lie at all.
