[ Cheryl is sick. despite that, she's done her hair and makeup and dressed herself in a red silk robe. a lot of effort went into her appearance, but it does little to hide the fact that she's unwell. she looks tired. at home she was a pro at snapchat, and she holds the camera out at arms length. all that's missing is the puppy filter! ]

By now you've all heard of the great tragedy that's befallen us. I was caught right in the middle of everything, an innocent bystander in someone's very cruel plan to shake us all to the core. I don't scare easily and I don't wilt, but I could use your help in this trying time.

First: obviously i am confined to bed until I recover. You can entertain me by chatting with me and telling me your stories. Make sure they aren't boring.

And secondly: If you're able-bodied, perhaps you can avenge me. [ she pauses. smiles. ] Us. It's the right thing to do.

You want me to be honest? I wish a good half of them were fake.
But honestly you'll probably think of this all as a big joke.

Where the first originated from is still a mystery, but centuries later and all vampires are forced to live underneath humans. That is until a sudden disease causes every adult over the age of eighteen to die, forcing them to the surface in order to protect the remaining population.
And you wanna know why this happened?

Actually before our worlds supposedly got destroyed I basically adopted a whole squad of children so you're not too far off the mark. I guess.
Making sure they didn't get themselves killed sure sucked.

Ate them? No. Drank their blood? Unfortunately.

I'm not fond of children's blood, but I wasn't in any rush to die either.

Unless you're a vegetarian it's really hypocritical to think that's gross.

And you said not to make it boring, no specifics on whether or not it be good.

I don't eat people. It's different.

But you eat cattle and pork, because it's necessary to survive right?
I'm doing the same thing.

I feel like we're both speaking the same language but you're not making much sense.

It's only difficult for you to understand because I'm assuming you're human.
Which I get, you're all very simpleminded folk.

You had a 4.0, your world is dead in case that happened to slip your mind. Your level of intelligence doesn't matter much anymore.

How about this? Say you turned into a creature that required human blood, would you just refuse to adapt and die? Or would you survive?

Maybe I would only drink the blood of people who deserved it.

For centuries? I really doubt it.

It's not like I drink everyone around me dry, either, keeping them alive allows them to be of use later. And gathering a small circle of people willing isn't difficult in a place like this because of the people who wanna be helpful.

They're kinda connected by name.

You see for me I like drinking from the source more than I do a glass.
And it seems a few people here don't really mind having to explain a wound on their neck.
