[ Cheryl is sick. despite that, she's done her hair and makeup and dressed herself in a red silk robe. a lot of effort went into her appearance, but it does little to hide the fact that she's unwell. she looks tired. at home she was a pro at snapchat, and she holds the camera out at arms length. all that's missing is the puppy filter! ]

By now you've all heard of the great tragedy that's befallen us. I was caught right in the middle of everything, an innocent bystander in someone's very cruel plan to shake us all to the core. I don't scare easily and I don't wilt, but I could use your help in this trying time.

First: obviously i am confined to bed until I recover. You can entertain me by chatting with me and telling me your stories. Make sure they aren't boring.

And secondly: If you're able-bodied, perhaps you can avenge me. [ she pauses. smiles. ] Us. It's the right thing to do.

[ and as she ends the video: ] Hashtag Olympia Strong. [ yes, that's right. hashtag. this is Cheryl Blossom, after all. ]

[This all seems a touch dramatic and Mipha finds herself more amused than purely sympathetic.]

Please take care. Illnesses aren't my specialty, but everyone is working hard to find a cure.

[In the meantime:] What kind of story would you like? I'm sure others have already given you a couple, so if you're interested in a different type I will do my best to oblige.

[ amusing people is better than being scolded, so she'll take it. ]

Tell me what your home is like. What do you miss the most?

[fisherwife]

I suppose it might be a bit cliched, but I miss my family. [She smiles sheepishly.] I was chosen for a great duty that's taken me away from them for many, many years so I miss my father and younger brother terribly.

But here I can see them again, when they wake up. And I've been reunited with old friends I thought I'd lost... [Like Zelda! And Link. Especially Link.]

But my home was up near the lakes and mountains. The Zora's Domain is--was--in the Lanayru Great Spring region, a series of plazas rising high above the lakes and filled with water. Many zora would dive from the waterfalls and swim the rivers to fish, or for fun, or racing.

[sweetwater]

It sounds beautiful. [ so who came blame her for missing it? ] What was your duty?

[fisherwife]

[A slight bit of hesitation but, well, it's not a secret or anything.]

I was--am--the princess of my people. But there was a greater duty I had beyond that--A great evil was going to be rearing its head again, and a champion of each race was chosen to help rise against it.

I was the Zora Champion. So I was often away, traveling the country with my fellows and training hard.

[sweetwater]

Too bad all your hard work was ruined by a space storm that destroyed everything any of us have ever known. [ she's gonna be mad about that for a while. ]

[fisherwife]

[Thanks for that reminder.

Mipha flinches a little, her smile sad] ...it was shortly after defeating that evil that the Storm came. It does feel a little like all the hard work we did was for naught.

[sweetwater]

I know how you feel. I was ready for life to be better at home. I was finally going to be in control of my own destiny. And then... the storm. [ of course, she was doing more arson than defeating evil, but sometimes it's better to not get into specifics. ]

[fisherwife]

[Mipha considers this a moment]

If you'd like, you could look at this as the opportunity to do just that, at least. I'm sure you wouldn't be the first to consider this a chance to reinvent yourself, to become a completely new person, far removed from the chains of your past.

[sweetwater]

[ she isn't the first person to suggest that to Cheryl. maybe Cheryl really does need to try and let go, use this as a chance to start again. ]

You make a very good point. A fresh start. There are few opportunities for that in life.
