[ Cheryl is sick. despite that, she's done her hair and makeup and dressed herself in a red silk robe. a lot of effort went into her appearance, but it does little to hide the fact that she's unwell. she looks tired. at home she was a pro at snapchat, and she holds the camera out at arms length. all that's missing is the puppy filter! ]

By now you've all heard of the great tragedy that's befallen us. I was caught right in the middle of everything, an innocent bystander in someone's very cruel plan to shake us all to the core. I don't scare easily and I don't wilt, but I could use your help in this trying time.

First: obviously i am confined to bed until I recover. You can entertain me by chatting with me and telling me your stories. Make sure they aren't boring.

And secondly: If you're able-bodied, perhaps you can avenge me. [ she pauses. smiles. ] Us. It's the right thing to do.

If you're unable to come up with a single way to find justice for those of us who were harmed, then you aren't the right person for the job. Maybe you can roll bandages or refill water for the real heroes.

[Weirdly, Bellamy doesn't seem too offended by that, although he does scoff.]

Cute. Not gonna fill me in on what your idea of justice is?

They should suffer, for all the suffering they caused for others.

[jettisons]

[He gets that impulse, and he's probably a hypocrite for saying it, but...]

That's not going to make any of this better. Trust me.

We don't know that, and there's one way to find out for us. [ Cheryl raises an eyebrow. ] I say we try it.

[Bellamy just shakes his head.]

I know that. I've tried it. Revenge isn't how we fix this.

[sweetwater]

In my experience, revenge feels liberating. [ does it fix anything? no, not really. but it feels great. ]

[jettisons]

It's liberating until whoever did this builds a bigger bomb next time that infects the entire city because we decided to rush into being vengeful.

[sweetwater]

Then don't give them the chance to build another bomb.

[jettisons]

We don't know how many of them we're up against. If you know something I don't, now's the time to share.

[sweetwater]

[ ok, so she knows nothing. Cheryl sighs, and her tone softens. ] I don't want this to happen again. What if it's not just the flu? What if it's worse?

[jettisons]

I get it.

[This sucks, and he can't say he blames her for feeling the way she does.]

There are people working on figuring out how to cure this. You'll be okay.

[sweetwater]

I hope so. [ she pouts. ] They said we'd be safe here.

[jettisons]

[Bellamy didn't buy that from the beginning, but he bites his tongue on that subject. No need to make this worse for her.]

Where are you? Somewhere safe?

[sweetwater]

I'm in what I suppose is home now. Complete safe, if you don't count possibly infectious. Or that we're on a weird alien planet.

[ but other than that... ]

We're working with "relatively".

[Which sucks, but it's also par for the course.]

Have you been to the Sanctuary?

[sweetwater]

No, I don't need to be rounded up with other sick people like some sort of charity case. [ she'll sulk alone at home, thank you very much. ]

[jettisons]

Charity case? The Sanctuary is your best shot at getting cured.

[sweetwater]

Peter will take care of me. [ there's a difference between the kind of attention she draws on purpose and the unwanted attention she's reluctant to get. ] I like it at home, I'm comfortable here.
