[He stands before the camera, arms open wide.]

Alright, I give, I'm bored. I can't concentrate at all today. Every composition sounds like crap and I've had enough!

[He sighs, he doesn't really know how to deal with boredom]

Any suggestions on something I can do that doesn't involve sneaking back up to look at the sleeping people and doesn't cost much money. I only have a part-time job so you know, I'm not exactly rich here!

[Demyx shakes his head a little.]

What do normal people do when they can't work on what they're doing anymore?

They're a lot closer to heartless, and don't look human. Those that look sorta close to human, but a step below us are the ones that serve some of us. But even then they're not capable of very much.

Some of us, for some reason or another, have servant Nobodies that follow our commands. I'm sure someone explained it to me at some point, but I don't remember. It was years ago.

[He's determined to try and fill in some of the gaps in his knowledge. It's starting to seem like a daunting task, though: he manages to get one question answered to his satisfaction and suddenly there are several more he needs to ask.]

So, they're monsters? The lesser Nobodies and these, uh... Heartless, too? What are they, exactly? Heartless?

[Hm, now that's a loaded question, isn't it? Are Nobodies monsters? He hesitates only briefly.]

Yeah, you could call them that if it helps you. Heartless are just people who have lost their hearts. The weakest and most numerous are shadows. I think they get bigger the more hearts they take, but I'm not sure on that. They don't have any thoughts, just a desire for their heart and that's why they take other people's hearts, trying to grasp for what's gone.

[It's pathetic, isn't it, but they do the same thing, really.]

Huh.

[Just sort of a confused grunt there. He's quiet for a moment, mulling it all over, trying to will the pieces of the puzzle together in his head.]

All right. [Back to writing stuff down.] Shadows... hearts...

What happens to these... stolen hearts?

Unless the heartless are defeated, they keep them. When they're defeated, the hearts are released and go to form Kingdom Hearts.

[He's starting to feel like he should write a book he can hand out at will.]

Who told you to ask me this, anyway?

[He doesn't mind, he's just curious.]

Form Kingdom Hearts...?

[That... doesn't sound like the Kingdom Hearts he learned about in one of the Master's lessons years ago.

... Then again, how much does he really remember from that lesson? Heart of all worlds, something something, tremendous light, 'Terra, stop daydreaming and pay attention'...

He jots down Demyx's explanation, anyway. He can always ask Aqua about it sometime, if... when she wakes up.]

Nobody told me to ask you this. [Which is true. Nobody specifically instructed him to, or even vaguely hinted that he should, bother El Nysa's resident Nobody.] I'm just curious, that's all.

Oh okay. [He sounds like his curiosity is satisfied, not terribly bothered.]

Yeah, so Kingdom Hearts is all those hearts together, and then the Superior will bring balance to everything, and return our hearts. Kingdom Hearts isn't finished though, there's still a big hole in it.

[At least, there was. Then there was a storm.]

[Bye, Kingdom Hearts. Unless the Natha saved it and have it contained in some storage or quarantine area up there. Boxes full of trinkets, cases full of weapons, cages full of pets, and then one giant, heart-shaped moon... Maybe two. Collect all the colors, why not.]

[Balance... Xehanort talked about that, too. Where did the truth end and the lies begin with him?]

Is that what your group was doing? Working toward getting your hearts back by... freeing hearts from heart-stealing monsters?

[It's probably better for the worlds if it was gone, but not as great for Demyx.]

That's right. We were taking the hearts from the heartless and collecting them in Kingdom Hearts. The Superior went on and on about restoring the balance and everything, getting rid of those heartless.

[It was all very boring. Unfortunately, for the truth of the matter, even Demyx couldn't provide, for the lies went far far deeper than he'd ever know.]

We traveled to a lot of worlds, to check out on the darkness and the heartless populations.

[He just wanted his heart back.]

[You know, most of that doesn't seem so bad. Destroying monsters that steal hearts from people, getting their own lost hearts back...]

What about a man named Ansem? Was there an Ansem in your group?

No, no one like that. Everyone has an 'X' in our names.

[That should help explain it, right?]

The Superior named us by taking our names and adding the 'X'. It's like a tracking spell or something.

[He doesn't really understand the concept, or probably all it does, but it was enough to be threatened that they could find Demyx anywhere when he was younger. No chance of escape.]

[A tracking spell?

That's creepy.

Thank goodness he and his friends don't have an 'x' in their names... ~~Might want to rethink the crossed straps in their outfits, though.~~

Terra falls silent again, just staring down at his notes. Heartless, Nobodies, hearts, the Seeker of Darkness doesn't have anything to do with the group...

There's more he could ask, but maybe he should just take some time and get all this straight in his mind first.]

Right. Thanks for the answers. You've given me a lot to think about.

[This guy's been forthcoming and not particularly shady-acting so far.

But if he's telling the truth about Nobodies, how did he not end up one of those monster-shaped ones? He doesn't seem very strong at all...]

[There's a lot to the spell that Demyx isn't aware of, as it is with much of the Superior's plans, but he's not wrong about what he does know.

The truth is much much worse.]

Yeah, sure, I don't mind really. He's asleep anyway, as long as you don't tell him when he wakes up.

[Consequences, and whatnot.

It could be something of a mystery, or at least, Demyx does like giving that impression, that there's nothing much to him at all.

All the better in case he needs to surprise someone.]

Don't worry, I'm not telling him anything when he wakes up.

[No tattling planned, just some interrogating and then probably threatening.]
