[It takes a short while for Venom to adjust his device as he turns on the feed. He feels the device itself is cumbersome and wonders why they can't just switch over to magic coms like normal people. A few moments of silence (and Venom's hair eye staring into the camera) later, he begins:]

I suppose I should start with a good afternoon to all of you.

The reason why I've decided to do this is because of the intentions of my former organization. [And the previous talks about murder and murder-related things.] We were dealt a heavy blow by an antagonistic force, someone who felt we were going to interfere with their plans. As the leader, I came to a difficult decision. I felt if we were to survive, we needed to operate in the light of day, to come out of the shadows for good.

What were we, you might ask?

We were assassins.

It's not something I was ever proud of doing, nor do I plan on going back to that profession. My unhappiness was fueled by it, even though I voluntarily took the leadership role. I feel that if I am to continue living in the light, I wish to be open and honest about my past.

[The feed shuts off as Venom hopes he did the right thing.]

Exactly. Corrupt politicians, heads of crime families, those types of people. The goals changed between leaders, but after recent developments, the Guild is moving towards a path of legitimacy.

[Or so he hopes. He never got to see the fruits of his labor.]

Why would you apologize for doing that, though?

[ It seems perfectly fine to her. People who broke the law, no matter who they were, deserve to be brought to justice. That's Kira's law. ]

You should have said so! People might think you just go around killing anybody.

Because people see those like me as heartless killers, and I wish to leave all of that behind.

[He too believed in that type of justice, but he hated doing the act.]

But it wasn't going to be the same Guild as before. It's been rendered moot, either way.

[Man, that still hurts to think about.]

[ Personally, she can't relate. She felt absolutely no guilt killing those that fell under those standards - but maybe it's because she's so detached from the physical act? She would've been more conscious about supporting such an ideology on a public network back at home, but it's not like she can be pinned for anything now, far away from Earth. ]

Misa doesn't see you like that. [ Just being honest! Nothing incriminating there. ] But, your group doesn't do it anymore then, right? And you probably can't do stuff like that here, without getting in trouble...

[ And he'd said it made him unhappy. ]

[He doesn't address it, but he appreciates her sentiment.]

I don't know, to be honest. I was pulled away before I got to see them step into the light for the first time.

And I won't have anything to do with this profession while I'm here. I'm done.

[ She sighs lightly over the feed - yeah, not everyone is cut out for this. ]

I've been rather floored by the options and many paths I can take. For the time being, I've settled into a low stress night job.
