( it's not been horribly long since Diana poked around the network, and surprise surprise, she's still ignoring the fact there is a voice and text function. she will look upon the faces of those she speaks to, tyvm!

she's dressed in the dark black of the city guard, her hair pinned up and a sparkling brooch at her cloak, though her fingers are already toying with it as she speaks. )

I see that our numbers have grown greater. My name is Diana of Themyscira, and I bid you all welcome, both faces old and new. If you need aide during your displacement, then I offer what knowledge I have. You need but ask.

( that said, it's not exactly why she's here, though her note is just as important with so many more that might need to learn how to protect themselves. )

It has come to my attention that there are many in our midst that know little in the way of defense. Or, perhaps not enough, in a world with so many dangers lingering just out of sight. It troubles me to think that there are those that may not know how to protect themselves, especially if they possess a desire to learn.

( which brings her to her purpose, an important one at that. Diana seems gifted at finding herself a purpose. )

I am an amazon, well trained in the art of war. Archery, swordplay, use of a shield, riding, hand to hand, more. If there are those that would learn, I would be happy to show what I know. It will not be simple, and the training will be difficult. Still, if you would learn, I will make you an amazon. This is more than a style of defense, it is a family. You will gain both if you learn from me.

( her piece said, Diana crosses her arms. )

I see. We will have to take care, I would not want to put you in a state that could be dangerous until we have an idea of how to control it.

The one time I did control it, it was because I was caught in a trap at the tournament, and Sis was being ganged up on by four other warriors. I was angry at myself for not being able to help her and I wanted to be better...

[She doesn't know if that's why she was able to control herself that time or not, but since Diana wants to help, it's best to explain as much as she can.]

I broke out of the trap and we defeated them together. So...I don't know if it's anger or wanting to protect people. Maybe it's both?

My aunt always warned against anger in battle. It can make you more ferocious, yet it can also make you blind.

( still... it's something to remember. )

If it is both, you will have to master the balance of keeping both in check. Anger is a difficult opponent to master, but I think it can be done with practice.

[Because she's not wrong in that assessment, especially when it comes to the berserker form. But Kale really wants to learn to control it, so that she can be useful rather than a liability to people.]

Um, when would be a good time to start training?

I have some beginners starting on the morrow, but perhaps you'd be more comfortable with private training.

( it'd be easier to focus on her unique concerns that way. )

Oh, that sounds good. I have hand to hand combat training, so I'm not really a beginner. At that, at least. I don't have any weapons training.

[Plus, she'll feel less awkward if she's not comparing herself to others.]
