( it's not been horribly long since Diana poked around the network, and surprise surprise, she's still ignoring the fact there is a voice and text function. she will look upon the faces of those she speaks to, tyvm!

she's dressed in the dark black of the city guard, her hair pinned up and a sparkling brooch at her cloak, though her fingers are already toying with it as she speaks. )

I see that our numbers have grown greater. My name is Diana of Themyscira, and I bid you all welcome, both faces old and new. If you need aide during your displacement, then I offer what knowledge I have. You need but ask.

( that said, it's not exactly why she's here, though her note is just as important with so many more that might need to learn how to protect themselves. )

It has come to my attention that there are many in our midst that know little in the way of defense. Or, perhaps not enough, in a world with so many dangers lingering just out of sight. It troubles me to think that there are those that may not know how to protect themselves, especially if they possess a desire to learn.

( which brings her to her purpose, an important one at that. Diana seems gifted at finding herself a purpose. )

I am an amazon, well trained in the art of war. Archery, swordplay, use of a shield, riding, hand to hand, more. If there are those that would learn, I would be happy to show what I know. It will not be simple, and the training will be difficult. Still, if you would learn, I will make you an amazon. This is more than a style of defense, it is a family. You will gain both if you learn from me.

( her piece said, Diana crosses her arms. )

( Reinhardt may be from a far more modern existence, yet his spirit is utterly familiar to Diana. even his way of speaking hearkens to home, even though he is right that he's not quite the amazon family she remembers.

I would welcome your aide. A knight follows similar oaths to an amazon, do they not? Our purpose is not so very different. I would delight in your help, for there are many that could learn and I know I am only one.

[ His aged face splits into a huge smile at her agreement. If anything, he looks relieved. A part of him had feared that she would see his face the way so many others had in the past few years. Only seen the snowy beard and hair, the missing eye, the deep set wrinkles, and thought him too old for the task. But she doesn't and he is utterly beside himself in joy that he could continue to be a knight, even here. ]

I think we might. And I take the Oaths very seriously. So you are right that we can work together to defend the weak and deliver justice to those in need. So I will help you in any way I can. Just tell me where I need to be and I will be there, Diana of Themyscira.

[ He laughs then, a huge warm sound as he looks back behind him to what is no longer shown. ] Ah! My Crusader armor! Structurally, it's made of a special alloy created by German scientists specifically for our armor. It's a mixture of steel, titanium, tungsten, and inconel. It's likely one of the three strongest metals on our earth. But my King [ this is what he calls his former commander though Balderich had been no king at all ] told me once that it was made of the hopes and dreams of a brighter future for all mankind. [ It's clear which one he likes better. And by god does he truly wants to believe it to be the second one. ]

( age is probably not a fair thing for her to hold against anyone. seeing as she's almost 5000. she doesn't have quite as many wrinkles, though. to Diana age means wisdom, experience. why should such valuable traits discredit? no, Reinhardt tells her that he is a knight and she absolutely believes it, without question. )

I aim to have our first meeting on the morrow, Reinhardt. It would please me if you would join me, and assist in teaching those who would learn. ( he's bound to have a different style than she, but that's not a bad thing. there may be students better geared to learn his than hers. each would provide valuable knowledge and ability to those with none.

perhaps anyone else would not be impressed by the idea of armor being made of dreams and hopes. Diana, though, is clearly smitten. ) It shines like hope, does it not? I can understand why one would make such a claim.

[ 5000? She doesn't look a day over 4999! ]

The morrow. All right. I will do my best to be there to assist you in any way I can. I will bring my armor. However, I must tell you that I have been denied my hammer. I don't know if this place has any war hammers large enough or strong enough for me, so I won't be able to teach that. But I can teach shield tactics and anything that is heavy armored infantry related. At least until I can find a hammer I can use or I can get mine back.

[ He smiles all the more at her. He likes her already. She doesn't laugh at his idealistic notions. ] It used to shine even brighter, but like me, it has seen a lot. But I think it will continue to serve me and hopefully you and the people of this world well.

They withheld much of my weaponry, too. If it soothes you, I have had it all returned unharmed a little more than a fortnight after my arrival.

( which was a great comfort to Diana, considering she did not have the Godkiller at her side, and that was sort of anxiety inducing... )

Experience shines in its own way, I think. I am sure it will serve you well, it is plain you take great care in maintaining it.

That does make my heart rest well. Thank you. My hammer has been my boon companion for as many years as my armor has. It feels strange not to have it nearby in case of emergencies.

[ She'll get a very warm and happy smile. ] It's not just me. I had an amazing young mechanic that did much to keep both my armor and myself going. She's still sleeping right now, but I owe her much. I wonder if there are such people in this world that might be up for that task of keeping it working.

I imagine so. I lost a weapon that was vital to my mission upon my arrival. I confess to being distressed until it was back with me.

( since, yeah, how she gonna stab gods without her sword? cmon, Natha, let a girl murder some deities please!!! )

Keeping it working? Is it a more difficult suit than most? ( all amazons care for their own armor, so it is curious to hear he had a mechanic do it instead. )

Losing a weapon of such value is like losing your limbs. I understand this. And I am glad of it's return to you.

[ A small laugh and a little shrug ]

It's a little more advanced than your typical knight's armor. I don't really recall knights of old having rocket boosters on their backs. I might be able to make some minor repairs, but much of it is beyond me. I was very fortunate to have the continued help of one of the Ironclad Guild to assist me.

Thank you. I am glad as well. For more than my sword, truly, my shield and braces were also returned.

( her eyebrows lift at the idea of rockets attached to armor. Well yeah, that is a new one for her. )

I wish you luck in finding a smith, then. I know only little, I doubt it could be of use in such a grand suit.
