( it's not been horribly long since Diana poked around the network, and surprise surprise, she's still ignoring the fact there is a voice and text function. she will look upon the faces of those she speaks to, tyvm!
she's dressed in the dark black of the city guard, her hair pinned up and a sparkling brooch at her cloak, though her fingers are already toying with it as she speaks. )
I see that our numbers have grown greater. My name is Diana of Themyscira, and I bid you all welcome, both faces old and new. If you need aide during your displacement, then I offer what knowledge I have. You need but ask.
( that said, it's not exactly why she's here, though her note is just as important with so many more that might need to learn how to protect themselves. )
It has come to my attention that there are many in our midst that know little in the way of defense. Or, perhaps not enough, in a world with so many dangers lingering just out of sight. It troubles me to think that there are those that may not know how to protect themselves, especially if they possess a desire to learn.
( which brings her to her purpose, an important one at that. Diana seems gifted at finding herself a purpose. )
I am an amazon, well trained in the art of war. Archery, swordplay, use of a shield, riding, hand to hand, more. If there are those that would learn, I would be happy to show what I know. It will not be simple, and the training will be difficult. Still, if you would learn, I will make you an amazon. This is more than a style of defense, it is a family. You will gain both if you learn from me.
( her piece said, Diana crosses her arms. )

[ mostly because some things are, perhaps, best discussed in person. in the long run, kara might reveal who she is more openly, given everything she's discussed with bruce, given that she's not the only alien here and her identity will hardly raise eyebrows, but for now, old habits die hard.

she rises when she spots Kara, a warm smile on her face. ) Hello, ( she greets in turn, taking Kara's hands for just a moment to look her over. Diana must have decided she looks well, for she gestures at a chair next to her. )

when Kara leans forward, Diana gives her every ounce of her attention. )

but eventually, dessert delight makes way for seriousness and with diana focused on her, kara forges ahead: ] I'm not human at all. I was born on a planet called Krypton. It died and I grew up on Earth. I have powers, too. I'm not an Amazon, of course, but — at home, I went by Supergirl.

( of course that rings bells for Diana, even though Clark has returned to stasis. he hadn't spoken to her of Krypton yet it'd been difficult not to explain the S emblazoned across his chest. )

( Diana reaches to curve her fingers around Kara's wrist, managing an echo to her smile. )
When we first met, I was on the station visiting him. Clark... he's tells me he is a friend from my future. I met him before he returned to stasis, he has such a noble heart.
( her smile grows sad. it is clear she misses him, even though they had only just gotten to know each other. )

[ her smile turns softer. ] He's the one who mentioned to me that I was awake before this, too. Here. I don't remember any of that.
