[ an eyepatch-wearing dog's (or is it a wolf's) face appears in the feed. as though he was the one who was making the post.
as it just so happens, he might have been, with a very proud-looking man, coming into the frame to give him a scratch behind the ears. ]
Good boy.
[ the point of this exercise was twofold. to get to know a little more about his fellow refugees and what they held dear. and, well... maybe a small part of him wanted to show off his "son's" rather impressive skills. but, he would absolutely never admit that. ]
Everyone, this is DD. [ at the sound of his name, he gives an affirmative "bark", and Ocelot nods. ] All right, DD. Can you type "hello world" for everyone?
[ the dog (or wolf, who really knows) gives him a look, but sure enough, some text begins to appear on the screen. ]

[ a valiant effort... for a dog. Ocelot shakes his head, but gives DD a pat on the head for effort. ]
Well... maybe we just need a bit more practice.
[ DD barks in approval yet again, tail wagging. ]
How many of you have had friends like DD returned to you lately? How many of you are still waiting? Both of us [ he gives DD another pat on the head. ] are interested to hear what you have to say.
[ and he looks back to DD, and gives a nod. ]
DD, off.
[ and the dog nudges the feed, once, twice, before it's turned off again. ]

[ ...now to confirm if a wolf knows his deepest secret. this is probably the strangest thing that's happened. ]

thank you.
[Then, as per his instructions, switching from text to video.
His suspicions are confirmed, of course. It's just the underside of her neck and jaw at the minute, because she's listening to some Olympian natives in the distance. Their chatter is too far off to be near her or helping her. He gets screen full of wet black nose next, an accidental smear, and finally she sets back with questioning whimper-groan, tilting her face down at the screen as if to ask if he's satisfied.
Her cellphone isn't high tech enough to text and film at the same time, sadly. She does have a twig in her molars, though—as if he needs anymore give away, and she's rolling it and trying to resist chewing too hard. Someone shouts. It's not important, but the sound distracts her, and her face darts in the direction, ears pricked. Literate as she is, she's still… all and all, completely, a wolf.]

...well. it wasn't like he could do much about it now. but he does switch the text over to private. ]
I guess I was right. You really are a lot smarter than the average wolf. Does it have anything to do with your strange markings?
[ now he's definitely curious? is she a wolf... ghost or something? ]

you can see them?

[ ...does this have something to do with ESP (though he'd never thought he'd have inherited abilities from his father)? is it something else? he'd just thought they were decorative, and nothing to really be that alarmed about? ]

have you a connection to the divine or spiritual, or unfailing belief in those things?

[ no wait. that was a lie. but it is instinctual. he rarely, if ever talks directly about himself, but he already poured his heart out to her (really... he still can't believe that he did that, maybe he needs to watch himself around animals too), and she probably knows a little more about him than anyone else here could possibly hope for.
this was a difficult situation.
finally, after some time, he settles on the truth. might as well, since she already knows the one thing about a certain someone he didn't want to get out. ]
But, my father was a spirit medium.
[ ...did this mean he inherited some of his father's abilities? ]

the requirements seem looser. i think it is because there is a broader range of where people have come from. for some, it's a vacillating thing.
are you bothered by the markings, or my literacy?
