[Here is one disgruntled English lady. You might have seen various shades of this annoyance after the pods plummeted to the earth, checking for injuries (maybe on you, personally), or more recently at the Sanctuary collecting blood. Apparently, the latter is why she's deemed it necessary to post.]

Thought I'd drop a quick word, given some of my experiences since we've all come together.

Now, I understand we all come from various worlds and times, with vastly differentiating forms of medicine, but I'm sure it's safe to say that bloodletting is not the preffered sort of medicine people want here. I don't care if someone here handed you a knife, of if that's what you're used to doing. That is not how you collect blood. You use a needle, and hopefully it's held by someone that knows how to find a vein. If you'd like to learn, I'd be happy to teach you.

Secondly? Your blood, assuming you're... human, or what the biologically average human is, is going to be used by anyone who needs it, rich or poor. The blood of a king is not going to make a beggar on the street suddenly somehow contend for a throne that doesn't even bloody exist in this world.

[There's a pause in which she almost calls a certain someone named Richard out, but she's a better woman than that. Just barely.

It's stored. Should someone get wounded [or hungry?? shh], and the situation become dire due to blood loss, the collected blood can be used to help them. It's a little more complicated than that in reality, but that's the gist of it.

Well yes, you'd mentioned that. The specifics of how are what I find myself currently interested in, however.

Really? Are you interested in medicine, or is it just a morbid curiosity?

More the latter than the former.

[He's trying to figure it out on his own, and he thinks maybe it has something to do with the needles again? But also, how do you get it back in, blood likes to flow out of holes. And he had the idea that maybe they sort of...blew it back in? With a hose, like blowing glass? Which just raised even more questions.

But better to be silent and thought a fool than to speak and remove all doubt.]

The only medical interest I have on this subject is regarding my own potential use of services. Better to be prepared, yes?

Curiosity is good. And I'd hope you'd never need these service to be used, but generally, the blood hangs from a bag and from that bag is a sort of tube, and another needle. It feeds into your vein.

[She tips her head to the side, looking at the screen.]

Are you a sort of... fighter? Soldier?

There have been many times when such a service would have been helpful, yes. As to your question, I think the closest title for the services I provided at the time would be "adventurer."

I'm a good few years out of that life, however. [He hasn't had to kill a (fellow) Crow in months, even.]

A retired "adventurer" then. [There's a bit of an eyebrow lift at that. It sounds a little too simple, but maybe that's just how it is for him.]

This place...It is both like and unlike any place I have ever been. Even Orzammar was not so advanced as this, but mostly, people are very similar. Though, admittedly more diverse of form.

I can sympathize. It's---a bit like home, but home didn't have some of the technology here. Or magic. [For the most part.] It's been an adjustment.

Remarkably well, to an almost surprising degree. I'm treated well as a rule.

[There's a whole lot of other things, like the fact that he's earning a good living doing something he chose and that nobody's hunting him, and folks aren't being fantasy-racist at him.

But that's a lot to hang on someone he just met. Thedas drama? Sure, he'll talk at length about that. Personal problems? They're called personal for a reason.]
