so i don't know if anyone else has noticed, but it looks like there's a definite trend of people going back into stasis without any warning

a few people i knew from back home woke up and just ended up... disappearing out of nowhere and returning back to their pods on the station

has anyone else had something like that happen to them?
maybe it's just me and i'm cursed with bad luck or something
an explanation for WHY it happens would be nice, too
not that i think it's going to make anyone worry less
i haven't had the chance to talk to darma about it, but maybe someone else has

[ not that clary is entirely certain she would trust darma's reasoning at this point, but... well, it's worth a shot. ]

uh, on a lighter note
i realize we already have a makeshift fight club in the works, but i'm looking for regular sparring partners
preferably someone who can't actually throw me through a wall and doesn't want to repeatedly punch me in the face, but i'm not picky
i figure it can't hurt to add a few new things to my skill set

I think it might be common. If Olympia is truly one of the biggest cities in this place, it only makes sense that people from outlying communities travel here for a better life. No one seems surprised by our arrival, at least not that I've seen or heard.

Will you let me know what you find out? I'm curious, too. My name is Peggy, by the way.

Good to 'meet' you, Clary. I wish it was under better circumstances.

[ Which can be said of... this entire situation, really. Yes, it was a choice of sorts. And yes, their homes are gone — as far as they know. But a few weeks of this and it still takes some taking used to. ]

And you're right; people have spoken with them in the past. Whether or not they've been entirely forthcoming with information, I can't say, but there's no harm in trying. [ A half-truth is still true and a lie by omission is still a lie. This is the language she trades in. ] In the meantime — you're looking for sparring partners?

[ "Vanished" is a kinder way of putting it, yes. It still hasn't entirely caught up with her; perhaps because she knows the people she'd be the most worried for are here, awake or asleep. Home isn't always a place for her. She'd left London behind after the war and moved across the ocean for someplace brand new. And now —

Well, now it's a whole new planet. Imagine that. ]

It has been a pleasant surprise so far, making new friends in the way we have. [ Then - ] Is there anything in particular you're seeking in a sparring partner? Or something you're interested in learning or improving upon?

The same could be said about me. At least, from what I've gathered from most men.

[ Men. ]

I can't say I can offer much in the way of staves or swords apart from a spot of fencing. But fists and knees, I can do. Marksmanship as well, if you've ever considering trying.

There are some exceptions, of course. But it takes time.

Oh, yes? Then let's give it a shot, if you'll pardon the pun. I was surprised to find firearms here but I'm not complaining.

You're with the guard as well? That makes it a bit easier. We can use the training grounds to meet and work, if you'd like.

My thoughts precisely. You can contact me here whenever you have a moment, then.
