so i don't know if anyone else has noticed, but it looks like there's a definite trend of people going back into stasis without any warning
a few people i knew from back home woke up and just ended up... disappearing out of nowhere and returning back to their pods on the station
has anyone else had something like that happen to them?
maybe it's just me and i'm cursed with bad luck or something
an explanation for WHY it happens would be nice, too
not that i think it's going to make anyone worry less
i haven't had the chance to talk to darma about it, but maybe someone else has
[ not that clary is entirely certain she would trust darma's reasoning at this point, but... well, it's worth a shot. ]
uh, on a lighter note
i realize we already have a makeshift fight club in the works, but i'm looking for regular sparring partners
preferably someone who can't actually throw me through a wall and doesn't want to repeatedly punch me in the face, but i'm not picky
i figure it can't hurt to add a few new things to my skill set

Will you let me know what you find out? I'm curious, too. My name is Peggy, by the way.

peggy. got it.
[ simple, nice and easy to remember. ordinary, even, like something from home. then again, she's learned awhile ago that seemingly ordinary doesn't always mean ordinary. ]
i'm clary. i'll shoot you a message with anything i find out from the orbiters or word of mouth. i heard some people spoke to them while we were on the station, so it can't hurt to try to compile all the information that we do have.

[ Which can be said of... this entire situation, really. Yes, it was a choice of sorts. And yes, their homes are gone — as far as they know. But a few weeks of this and it still takes some taking used to. ]
And you're right; people have spoken with them in the past. Whether or not they've been entirely forthcoming with information, I can't say, but there's no harm in trying. [ A half-truth is still true and a lie by omission is still a lie. This is the language she trades in. ] In the meantime — you're looking for sparring partners?

[ 'vanished' is only a softer way of phrasing 'destroyed', but the point still stands. her duties hadn't allowed for many friendships outside of her occupation,
truthfully; if there's any silver lining to knowing she can't return home, it's the variety of people she's managed to meet. ]
yeah, i am. you know what they say: the more the merrier, and it doesn't hurt to stay sharp.

Well, now it's a whole new planet. Imagine that. ]
It has been a pleasant surprise so far, making new friends in the way we have. [ Then - ] Is there anything in particular you're seeking in a sparring partner? Or something you're interested in learning or improving upon?

[ from a woman, first and foremost, and especially one of her size. no one has thought to underestimate her here, not yet, but it's only fair to divulge that information before agreeing to a spar. ]
most of what i learned involves hand-to-hand, staves, or swords. i wouldn't mind broadening my horizons a little when it comes to anything that isn't borderline medieval.
[ borderline medieval gets the job done, but there's something to be said for at least attempting to be fluent in other areas. ]

[ Men. ]
I can't say I can offer much in the way of staves or swords apart from a spot of fencing. But fists and knees, I can do. Marksmanship as well, if you've ever considering trying.

[ casually trash talking boys on the network, no big. ]
honestly? all of the above sound good to me, marksmanship especially. i can't say it's anything i've tried before.
apologies for the delay! rl happened
Oh, yes? Then let's give it a shot, if you'll pardon the pun. I was surprised to find firearms here but I'm not complaining.
it's okay, no rush! i can be a little slow myself with tags
pun away if that's your style. i'm sure i've heard too many terrible ones to even blink at it.
[ mostly because she's made them herself, but semantics. ]
the technology leaves a lot to be desired most of the time, yeah. it's a weird mixture, but at least guns are something we can get our hands on. when are you free? the only obligation i have on most days is my shift with the guard, so just say the word and i'll make it happen.

the training grounds it is. we can work up to taking it outside of the city and putting what i've learned to the test after a few lessons.
