Do people often find gifts here?

The people who brought us here are really not bad. I thought they might be, because my experience with that sort of thing isn't the best. I admit I was skeptical until now. I thought this was like a prison.

So. Right. I got a gift. And powers. What all did you get?

Yeah, that's pretty understandable— considering, well most things about being here.

Y-yeah. It's some getting used to. After what was happening back home and all.

It was like this for you back home too?
darraig: (To keep)

We had walkers. Er, zombies. Whatever you call them.

I don't know what either term means actually.

The dead don't stay dead. They come back to life, walking and stumbling around, biting and eating survivors that are still alive. Everyone back home is infected, as far as we can tell. If you die, if one of them bite you, you turn like them. Unless someone else helps spare you that.

[By killing you before it happens. Attacking the brain to stop the transformation.]

That's— how were you able to spare people from that? Was there any cure?
darraig: (For what)

[personal profile] darraig 2019-01-31 12:07 pm (UTC)(link)
You -- you shoot them. Destroy the brain, it stops. That was the only 'cure' that I know of.

By killing them?

That's— it makes sense but it's definitely an awful way to go if there's no other cure.
darraig: (Never found)

Yeah. By killing them. I've had to do it myself. Probably, anyone who could work on a cure, they already died years ago when it started.

[At least, she has never heard of a cure for it. As nice as it might be to think there would be one. Even if there was a cure, she's not so sure it would be easy to just go back to the way things were before.]
