Think I got the hang of this. Uh, for those I haven't met or talked to yet? I'm Clementine.
So. I'm still figuring a lot of this. Being kinda newer here and all. I'm not sure dragons are new, are real, here exactly, but back home dragons and that sort of thing were just stories, outside of maybe being similar to dinosaurs and lizards? So them actually being real is new to me.
Like there being no walkers. Or -- zombies? Whatever people want to call it when the dead don't stay dead and try bite and infect you too. It started when I was about eight, almost nine. Pretty sure everyone was -- is infected. So. I guess what I'm saying is that if something does happen to me, someone has to kill me before I turn. Or if any of the people I know from home, if they wake up. If something happens to them. We can't let that happen here. I don't want to put everyone here through that.
Which, kind of still related to the walker thing, I don't suppose anyone has recommendations for sleeping better? Nightmares kinda get old. I haven't had a chance yet to figure what might be available. If anything.
[All of this is....well, it's a lot, suddenly finding herself here. She still has so many questions, and is still figuring her way around and all yet to be entirely settled in exactly. But maybe, given time, she might get there. Eventually. If she could ever actually adjust to things. To there being no walkers, mostly. This barely scratches the surface, but it's a start?
.....Even if it is a hella awkward one to initiate right off like this. In regards to the walker thing and her telling people she's infected.]

My remedy for nightmares is not to sleep.

I only wish that were possible. I mean, it is, but only viable for so long before it'd mess with me all the same, not sleeping.

I do not recommend alcohol.
no subject
And I think for most I'm probably a bit young still for the alcohol, anyway. So that probably won't be an issue.
no subject
So doubly don't drink the wine.
But anyone under drinking age asking strangers to kill them in an open forum I wouldn't blame at all for attempting alcohol. Hence the warning.
[Rodney's just. Verbose.]

Fair enough though. I just -- I wanted everyone to know. So it doesn't happen here too.

Psychiatry isn't my strong point, but I believe that the usual treatment for disrupted sleep is counseling.
I also wouldn't be surprised if the Natha have some sort of medication that could alter brain function to a similar effect. The native healers might even have some sort of magic to treat it.
Those are the options I'd suggest you look into... or have someone look into for you.
[Since she is a child and hopefully someone's at least marginally in charge of her.]

Thanks though. It's something to think about and look into at least.
[She doesn't have her adult companions. Not anymore, not here. Not awake at least. But she is sort of starting to make some bonds and connections since she arrived last month. Starting to.]

I don't know your exact situation, and I know it doesn't help your current situation, but I can tell you that the nightmares will get less intense and frequent over time.
[There's a pause between this and the next message, where he waffles on how soft he's willing to be here.]
If you want, I can ask around at the clinics in Olympia. I've worked with a few of them before.

[At the least. She might not have them basically every night like she might have used to. So in part he might not be wrong there. But it still isn't easy.]
You'd do that? You think they might be able to help?

[Seeking out a doctor to help this troubled child. It's what someone did for him, years before. He thinks. Pay it forward and all that. But of course, he can't let on that there's any sort of sentiment involved here, so he couches it in medical nonsense. If people know he has feelings, they'll know he's vulnerable and that's a no go. Then again, this is just.... a small troubled child.
... Maybe just a little is fine.]
I know it's hard to handle on your own.

[And probably no dealing with any more gunshot wounds. At least, not without someone there who would be able to help deal with that. She can't help but to be grateful for that much. This, all of this, it's more than she has had in years.]
I'm just. Not used to all this. Not in a long time, at least. And even if some things are similar to what I remember before the outbreak, it's still. Different.

But tell me about this zombie business. George A. Romero taught me a bit but you're the first here to talk like it's real. I won't lie, the dead do come back here sometimes but nobody's gotten bit or gone moldy, I assure you. Dragons are the bigger problem by far.
no subject
Well, uh. Depends on what you want to know? And what answers I know to be able to tell. No idea how it started exactly, just that it happened one day. And quickly spread. Initially, I was at home alone with a babysitter and she turned so I hid until Lee found me. It's been...a long time since. And we're still dealing with it.
no subject
But is that so? What did you like to listen to, I might have something for you. If you're an Earthling you might hit the jackpot.
That is where I would have started, but if you don't know the cause that's understandable. How did your sitter turn? Is this a nation-wide calamity? How long has it been going on?
no subject
Given I've been on the road since, yeah, it seems to at least be something affecting at least the entire US that I've encountered so far. No idea on if this is worldwide outside of that though, since communications are pretty screwed. But you can turn by getting bit or scratched by a walker, or just by dying. Doesn't matter how you die, once you die, you turn, unless someone takes care of you first to prevent that happening. It's been....about seven years or so by now? Something like that. Kinda lose track in just focusing on surviving and keeping moving, but that seems about right.

I am told certain teas can help with the lack of sleep.
( However, something else takes his attention. )
Your walker issue you described. What happens that cause you to turn?
no subject
But it's like an infection? Or something like that. A virus. We all have it. We all come back as one, however we die. Unless someone prevents that. By killing us a second time. I'm not sure exactly on how it all started, but. It doesn't have to be caused by a bite from a walker.

[That one way being if she dies. As far as she knows, anyway. She's not sure if anyone here might know what to look for, if she tried to get someone to check her out.]
