un: revolution, text
In the interest of fostering further discussing on political matters here, I have created some discussion points in the style of what I am told are more modern methods of communication.

-Jean-Jacques Rousseau, The Social Contract
[Over the next half hour, a few more images appear on the network, unaccompanied by text.]

-Jean-Jacques Rousseau, The Social Contract

-Maximillien Robespierre, his speech to the Convention on December 3, 1792
While I do not believe assassination of the king or empress to be necessary, the idea is still valid: the rulers of these cities must put their own desires second, must put their personal power second to the will of the people.

-Jean-Jacques Rousseau, The Social Contract

-cry of the French Revolution, 1792
[ooc: if you're looking for context, Kagari taught the French boys about memes]

@unchained
you actually did it
i mean you did it wrong but you did it
[EXCUSE HIM HE JUST NEEDS TO LAUGH FOR A THOUSAND YEARS]

I understand that the text is not "dumb" but that cannot be helped given the nature of the discussion.
no subject
otherwise it's just a long textwall on a cat
which, don't get me wrong, is hilarious
if we were somewhere with the actual internet, this would probably become an actual meme
but if you're going for something like your pal R's you need some humor
take the one about owning a plot of land, for example
you want a picture that's like, a cat sitting on top of someone's things
that makes it funny
plus memes are supposed to be short and punchy
a whole paragraph is way too long for a meme unless it's part of the joke
the one about the king dying, that's more like what you want
+ make it funny with a picture of someone getting scratched or something
maybe get another cat into the picture for the last one
fraternite is something about friendship, right
[Look. Look, he only knows one friend that's a nerd about this kind of thing, and he hasn't seen them in a year.]

So you are saying the pictures should be more related to the content, and that it ought be shorter. [ ENJOLRAS DON'T TAKE THIS SO SERIOUSLY PLEASE ]

giant essays on cats aren't funny unless you're making fun of the idea of giant essays
@amidala
You seem to be someone who is interested in the freedom of the people and democracy, and in a place like this where it seems democracy hasn't been the norm for most people it's important to speak of it.
What I don't quite understand are the cats.
no subject
Personally speaking, I don't understand it either.
@yohane
[ Yoshiko does not know anything about politics. however, as a livestreamer from the 2010s, she knows a decent amount about memes ]

You've been busy, Enjolras.

There are a surprising number of cats living in the streets near our house.

And near the bars. Would you like more photographs of them?

[ I.E. IT ISN'T ALL ABOUT ROUSSEAU. BE CIVIL INSTEAD. ]

I do not want to have to wait fifty years to see a better form of government come about.
no subject
Did I suggest that you wait fifty years? I don't recall as much, though you may have forever. Are we truly aging? Do we truly have another death waiting for us?
I see no reason why the government in this place matters, but ask to speak of it without Rousseau. Monsieur Jean-Jacques is hardly an interesting conversation starter.
[ Change his mind. ]

I do not see what the cats add to it, myself.

Perhaps by that time humans have learned all else there is to know, and turn to absurd forms of communication?

I feel like the text would be easier to read if it wasn't on top of pictures of cats. What's the function of this exactly?

[That's his best guess based on his life experience but it's certainly only going to make things more confusing for everyone else.]
