[The feed flickers a few times as Inara pokes at her phone a few times. Finally it steadies and Inara shakes her head.]

Bàoqiàn. I'm sorry, I'm still attempting to get use to these communication devices.

[She settles back and offers a charming smile before briefly dipping her head.]

Nín hǎo? For those of you I've failed to meet, I'm Inara Serra and still relatively new here. [She draws in a deep breath before continuing on.] Now I know that there are a great deal of you came from Earth, and while I find that truly fascinating and would love to hear some of your stories concerning it, I'm interested in knowing just where everyone else comes from.

I ask because though my ancestors come from Earth, though, no one has lived on Earth for centuries. I was born and raised on a planet called Sihnon. I trained there as well but before coming here, I'd spent a good year traveling between the different planets and various moons of our system.

[She takes a small sip of her tea before giving a brief nod of her head. She might have borrowed a teapot and some cups.]

I can't offer much, but I've only just made a fresh pot of tea and I'd be willing to share it with anyone who wouldn't mind telling me about where they come from.

Actually, same here. I just came out of stasis not long ago. Are you in Olympia?

[ If she's not, this may be a video chat, but Bree's up for that too if it comes to it. ]

We're still up on the station... We haven't exactly decided where we want to go yet.

[And she can't make that decision without River's input, it's only fair.]

I have no idea how to get back up to the station. I thought everyone was forced down when we went through the snowstorm?

[ Not that it really matters much, she supposes. ]

We can talk here if that's easier.

[companioning]

Oh... Well here is certainly good enough for me.

But my friend and I are looking to see where we want to go down there. Perhaps we can meet up once we've decided?

[givingback]

I'd like that, a lot. Plus, this will give me time to brush up on some history.

[ She smiles; honestly with people immersed in history on both sides of her family (all sides) Bree doesn't need to do much, but still. It can't help. ]

My father was actually a historian, and my mother traveled around the world when she was little with her uncle who was an archaeologist. Hopefully, I've picked enough to be a pretty good teacher.

[companioning]

[Inara nods and thinks this gives her time to think of all the history she hasn't thought about in years - since her training if she were to be honest.]

How exciting! And I'm certain you'll be a perfect teacher.

[givingback]

[ She smiles and won't keep Inara since this will all be so much more exciting face to face. ]

[companioning]

You are very sweet and I do appreciate the offer. And thank you, Bree, truly.

You're welcome, Inara. We'll meet each other soon.

[ She's eager to, but there's a lot to adjust to and Earth history, considering, doesn't have to be the forefront thing on her mind. With a smile and a wave, she ends her side of the feed, hoping they do get to meet face to face. ]
