( the image that appears is of a smiling blonde woman, healthy and bright looking, dressed now in pristine weight to present herself, projecting poise and elegance and friendly invitation to hear her out. her German Swiss accent is quite strong, though, so hopefully no-one is overly attached to their w's. ) I hope everyone is doing well this evening. I am coming onto the network to reach out to anyone I might not have been able to yet. My name is Angela Ziegler, and I am a doctor from Earth. Human, as you can see. ( a light, pleasant laugh and an even more pleasant smile ) You may also know me as Mercy. It's my agent name from when I was in service to a global peacekeeping organisation known as Overwatch.

I'm from the 21st century, so the treatment that I can offer you is science based ( a slight pause here as if she's considering one last time how to phrase this ) rather than magic based, but I have a good deal of practical experience with general medicine so there's almost nothing I haven't seen or dealt with. My expertise is in applied biotics, and I also have experience with gene therapy, prosthetics, and cybernetics, if there is anyone here who may need more specialised care. My qualifications also include emergency and trauma response so, if you ever find yourself wounded and in need of immediate attention, please do not hesitate to contact me. Think of me as personal 999 for refugees!

If you do come to me for any kind of care, I promise to do the best I can help you, while upholding all the oaths I've taken as a doctor to do no harm and to protect my patients. I'm not charging anything at this time.

And, if you'd like to humour me and help me to understand our group a bit better, I have a set of questions: do you believe you have a soul? What makes you think you do or don't have one? And is such a belief common where you're from? ( she doesn't mention religion, because it isn't strictly speaking a religious idea. she's known plenty of atheists and nay-theists who thought there was something beyond intelligence that made people paramount to other species. whether they called this unique internal animating light a soul or not, it didn't really matter. )

If it's not for convenience, what is your criteria for compromise? ( it's not necessarily about creating problems for herself, but she still considers it: would she have fewer problems if she could always compromise with herself? if she were able to ignore her own moral guidance? no, probably not: because, ultimately, she would end up doing more things she regretted, and only cause more problems for herself in the long run. ) There isn't anything noble about it--it's just a profession. There are plenty of doctors who aren't 'noble'.

...What is your actual job description? Beyond garbage disposal?

Were they holding your heart hostage? ( that's certainly a question that's weird out of context; even in context, she finds it's an odd one. ) Because, yes, I think it does. I have been unhappy in an organisation before at least there were some ways to make the best of it, with the work I was doing. And there were people who cared about me. Some good things.

I don't really see how that matters. You're still a person, heart or not.

( she chews on this for a moment before shaking her head. ) Your superior who is in stasis now? He may or may not have what you need from him, and anyway, why let yourself be at his mercy? You should try and see if there isn't some other way. This is a brand new world. This could be your second chance. Why not take it?

Well I don't know, I mean, I don't think so? He just said he'd get it. [Unless he already has it, but then why would he lie?]

Oh, hm, well it's just that Nobodies don't belong anywhere else and the Superior collected us to be together made a world for us and that's it. We're not supposed to exist so, that's what he did. So he said we had to be with him and I don't know, that was forever ago. Xiggy promised adventure, although it's not really what I thought it'd be like back then.

[What's good about the Organization? He thinks about that. No, none of them liked him.]

I don't know, I didn't like much of it. I liked it best when I was alone with my sitar.

[He looks genuinely bewildered.] Really? The Superior said that...well nevermind what he said. [He'll just be surprised.]

Yeah, he's in stasis now and that's okay for now, but when he wakes up... [He'll be back at his mercy.] Why? Um..well...like I said, I'm already in. If you leave, you're a traitor and I don't want to get myself killed.

[daemonized]

[He raises a brow at that, questioningly so.] And what might make you say such a thing? Do I not look like a gods-fearing sort of man?

[What a joke that is. A complete and utter farce of a thought. Once upon a time, maybe. Certainly not any longer.]

They had a hand in creating my world -- Eos, that is. There were others, of course, but the Six were the ones who stayed to watch over it. Or so the legend goes.

Not being too stubborn to recognize when your ideals are flawed, and adapting accordingly. Or perhaps just being able to accept that living a life blindly pursuing an ideal, rather than facility reality, is foolish. [ granted, the ideal he speaks of is fairly simple: saving others no matter what, even at the expense of yourself. ] I suppose that's true enough. Even an idea like healing others can become perverted if the motives behind it are wrong.

[ hm, well, he's already said more than he intended to do. if there's any harm in saying more, he'll deal with the consequences then. ] A Guardian... one who safeguards humanity from itself. But that explanation doesn't make much sense on its own, does it? [ a pause. ] I don't know if it applies to the world you come from, but a Guardian is one chosen by the world to ensure the preservation of mankind. It may seem "noble" on the surface, but in truth it merely means killing the few to save the many. No matter what that might entail.

T, trysts? Nooooo, noo-ho-ho....oh. Ohh yeah okay, very funny. [ HAHA, MERCY. Rhys huffs a little but: ]

Probably deserved that. [ He clears his throat. ]

Nope. Just a lot of drinker's remorse and somehow not getting my face ripped off by a guy that hates me. So glass half-full I guess.

No, no pamphlets. But I come from a non-magical place as well, so I'm thinking of asking a few questions of my own. Although certain scientific feats can certainly be viewed as magical.

Honestly, no, but you're telling me they are real in your world. I'd figured you had some opinions on what they might be.

( she actually surprised he even concedes that there are gods. he spoke about observing, so what had he seen, just the ring? )

Was it the Six who are responsible for that magic ring, or were the ones who cut-and-ran also in on it?

I would imagine they are dangerous to climb in.

Are you referring to what the Natha have managed to pull off?

[valcurie]

That's a rather awful thing to be told, that you're not supposed to exist. Even if that's true, you do, so why go about isolating yourselves? That kind of thing only makes people know less about you, and more likely to fear you. Which isn't a good thing.

( she considers this information, then sighs. he seems to terribly young to have such a burden put upon him: join and stay so, or die. but it's somehow not surprising. whoever this superior is, he's a pretty typical tyrant ruling through fear. )

Do you think he'd really kill you as a traitor, even with the world so changed? If you found a heart and became--a Somebody, if that's how it works? And you just retired to become a musician.

So that's a yes.

( HEY she thinks it's funny and she is definitely laughing!! Maybe at him, or the situation. Who knows?? He definitely would deserve it if it were the former. )

A glass you didn't drop and spill. ( A short pause. ) Did you get your arm fixed, by the way? Your cybernetic one.

It's for our own protection. [That's what he was told. Everyone would be after them, there would be no chance if they didn't isolate themselves.] I don't know, I guess people fear us now. [Since they do bad things.]

I don't know, I was about this big when I joined. [He held his hand about mid-chest.] It was a long time ago. The whole thing has taken forever...and now I need a new plan I guess.

[He blinks and speaks without hesitation.]

In a heartbeat. No pun intended. Half of our numbers were already gone, some of them were traitors.

Well, it sounds like this person needed better ideals to start with. But I guess that's part of growing up. ( She may laugh at this, and her own ideals have not changed at all, but she is totally serious; some people do make this adjustment when they are wiser. What she's changed over the years is her approach, more than anything. She's found that simplicity, and a lack of a willingness to abridge her own morality, has given her better results personally. ) All it takes is a little bit of imagination to know what you can do with a doctor's tools. In any age.

( then comes his explanation and...while it's not the weirdest thing she's come across here, it's something new. she'll listen, consider, and try to understand. ) People have chosen you to be their hero but, in reality, you're just a sacrifice for their collective conscious? So they don't have to get their hands dirty.

It's funny that you would put it like that... you couldn't be more right. Failing to outgrow such a childish way of thinking is just the pinnacle of stupidity. [ still talking about himself, yep. ] I would say someone like that has ceased to be a doctor, but that's merely semantics.

Something like that. It's a role I accepted, so I have no right to complain. [ a sigh. ] In truth, I don't mind dirtying my hands for the sake of others. [ the people he's saved aren't the problem; it's those he needs to sacrifice in order to do so. ] While I'm no longer a Guardian here, I imagine I was brought here for much the same reason.

Where there any other adventures?

I've always wanted to go skiing again. Maybe one day.

A bit of a self-fulling prophecy then, isn't it? ( she doesn't hide her critical tone here. though, is she dealing with a child soldier? this definitely isn't a good situation any what she looks at it, so she significantly softens after that, because he still seems young to her. too young. )

A new plan sounds like a good idea.

Are there other members, in stasis now, who your Superior would kill? Because, honestly, it doesn't sound like you should reform this organisation here. And if he's mad about that, we'll just have to do something about it.

Well, hopefully everyone sees it that way, because who likes to be stupid? Much less the pinnacle of it? ( She laughs, maaaaybe starting to suspect he's talking about himself, even if he's so serious, or maybe because of it. He seems to take himself pretty seriously. Whatever his past, that can cause problems for anyone. ) And this is why we just based on action, no? Instead of words.

You said you accepted the role. ( a slight pause. ) Have you already done that here, even if you have not been asked to? However much we may discuss murder the network.

I don't know, maybe. I don't make the rules, I just have to follow them. [He smiles a little and shrugs. Not a soldier, per se, more like a member of a creepy villain cult. He's really not a child anymore.]

Yeah, but I don't know what that is. [He sighs.] I'm not the plan guy.

[He tilts his head curiously.]

Well...probably. I saw some people there that were gone when I came here, so I'm really confused how they got there, but they were already taken out once, I don't know why he'd like them now. [He taps his fingers, considering it.]

And me, probably, he was kinda pissed at me because I can't catch Roxas. I don't think he was going to kill Roxas because he's special and all, but things have been kind of weird since half of them died. [He huffs, running his hand through his hair.] I told them I wasn't the right guy for the job, but what can you do?

Her name's Jade Harley! We actually live together. [You laughs self-deprecatingly.] Um, I definitely asked about the dog ears, I'm pretty sure. They're a conversation starter...?

[daemonized]

I have quite a few opinions yes, but the most straightforward one is this: they are indeed gods, or at least entities with powers beyond what is obtainable for the rest of mankind. Each with their own personality and temperament, each representing a different sort of... ah, element.

[A shrug.]

The Six were. There is very little known about those who left.

But it is also Juvia's fate to love her beloved Gray-sama!! [ It's pure adoration that spills out of her mouth, resembling something like a love struck fool.] I just know it! We met like it was destined to be!

...Ohhh! [ She deflates as soon as she starts, realizing the predicament her beloved is in. Trapped in a pod. Juvia looks rather glum, eyes remaining downcast as she speaks. ] You are right.. Having a good heart is a much better fate than what could've happened to all us refugees.

It's good to know there's at least one trustworthy physician here, then. [ he doesn't trust lysa or whatever as far as he can throw her... granted, medical care wouldn't do him much good, but it's still useful information to file away for a later date. ]

The need has yet to arise. But given that we're up against a supernatural storm capable of wiping out entire worlds, I find it unlikely things will stay that way. [ he's generally stayed away from all the murder talk since... any of those conversations can't end well for him..... ]
