Hello everyone! My name is Jean Prouvaire. I recently arrived here, and I wanted to introduce myself. I heard this is the best way to talk to the most people, so I thought I'd try it!

Let's see, I'm from Earth. From France, specifically. It's quite different here, but I think it's lovely! I have friends here, and I hope to meet some new people as well.

What else? I'm a poet! Not professionally, I was in school for languages and linguistics, but I love to write! Oh, I also very much enjoy horticulture and botany! The plants here are so interesting and I know I ought to be careful with most of them, but some are too lovely to resist.

Hello! It is nice to meet you, Ser Prouvaire. [ A smile. ] My name is Sam Tarly and I come from a place called Westeros.

I also like to write, but not poetry. I mostly compose letters and take notes on research that I have come across from books. I'm studying to become a Maester, you see. [A pause.] You probably don't know what that is, sorry.

A Maester helps people with ailments and teaching mostly. There is a lot of learning involved in becoming one.

Oh, you mean like a doctor? That is what we call them, where I'm from, people who help with ailments. I have a friend back home who was studying to be a doctor! He was often quite ill himself, poor thing, so I suppose it would make sense for him to want to be able to treat himself.

He made me move my bed once, to better help with blood circulation. Was it east to west? I think that was it.

But it's lovely to meet you, almost-Doctor Tarly!

I love the plants and flowers here. It reminds me of my home, really, though Highgarden didn't have any flowers that could hurt you so much. We were known for our fields of golden roses. I think you'd have liked it.

The flora is quite remarkable, isn't it? I've grown quite fond of it all.

It truly is! I managed to wander into the flora and fauna museum soon after awakening, and it was exquisite.

Before the chaos, of course, but we got it sorted out quickly enough. And it gave me even more of a chance to interact with all the lovely flowers and herbs and all the plants that this place has to offer, all at once!

I hope I get to find them all in the wild, as I explore Wyver a bit more.

It isn't the plants you have to worry about, though I think you have an altogether too cavalier attitude about them. But it's the fauna, not the flora, that you ought to be wary over.

That is entirely possible! I do get a bit excited about things. But I'll try to be more cautious until I learn more about them.

I suppose I'm trying to keep optimistic about the whole thing really. Yes, it's strange, and of course I miss home and the friends that aren't here. But it's the situation that I'm in, and it's not within my power to change that.

So I will continue to do the best with what is offered me.
