[When the video turns on, You is standing next to a wooden box, about the size of a large microwave oven, her hand resting on its top. She seems to be in the marketplace of Olympia.

She waves at the camera.] Hi~!

So, this place has months that are pretty much just like the ones on Earth, right? Which means that we're coming up on a very special holiday: Valentine's Day! Seriously, it's right around the corner!

If you don't have it where you're from, Valentine's Day is a holiday all about love, and romance, and celebrating the people you love! [There's the slightest of pauses. She frowns a little bit.] Actually, to tell the truth, it's a little bit different in Japan, but-- but that's not important right now! The important thing is, it's almost here!

And I know that since we're all still uprooted from home, it's probably really lonely to spend Valentine's Day by yourself. Sooooo... I'm gonna find everyone a match! [She beams at the camera, using her thumbs and fingers to form a heart-shape in front of her chest. It's honestly kinda precious.

She breaks the heart shape to tap the top of the wooden box.] Seriously, I'm gonna do it! I've got a box set up in Olympia, and one set up in Wyver, and you can fill out the form and put it in the box, and I'll go full-speed-ahead at finding you a perfect match! And, we'll all have a big dinner party with your new date!

[Another pause. Her expression turns sheepish.] Actually, if anyone wanted to help chip in money for that... renting the place is gonna be really expensive...

--but yeah, you should sign up! It's going to be great!

[She's looking like this.] Like I was saying, my name is You Watanabe! [Pronounced "yoh."]

[...close enough? That surname, he'll have to figure out on his own - Wattanarbay?]

Please forgive me miss, these new names are strange.

[ayes]

[Eh. She'll take it.] You don't see me complaining about people being called Linneus. [A little sigh.] No, it's ok. I get that it looks weird when you write it out.

[a light chuckle]

Well so far as I know Linneus isn't a word in people's languages. Though if it is I should like to know what it means.

Have you been here very long, Miss You?

[ayes]

I've been here since the beginning. I mean, since people started waking up. --also, you don't need to call me "miss." That sounds kinda weird.

[inaurare]

Then I may need to turn to you from time to time for your experience and advice- [gently and slightly apologetically-] -Miss You. Allow me to, please, at least until I am comfortable. It is strange for me not to.

[ayes]

Geez...

I mean, if you really want to I guess it's okay. I'm just not used to anyone talking to me like that.

I'd appreciate that! It just makes me feel like I'm... kinda old or something.

[with a tinge of mirth in his voice and expression, teasing just a little-]

I could call you Madam, if you wish to feel older.

[ayes]

That's way worse!

Then will you accept miss You for now?

Miss is for young ladies, where I am from.

[ayes]

Geez... it still sounds weird. I climbed too many trees as a kid to feel like a "miss." But if that's what you really want, I guess I'll deal.

[inaurare]

[that makes him laugh, one hand rising to his mouth to stifle the sound]

Indeed? I'm not sure where it is that tree-climbing and manners intersect but I climbed a good many trees in my youth as well.

[ayes]

Right? And I wouldn't call you miss! [She sounds genuinely serious saying it, but her expression gives away that it's a little joke.]

[inaurare]

[he had gathered himself, but now he's laughing all over again, harder this time. It's been a while since he's had a real laugh - thank you for that, You.]

This shall have to be codified into proper manners, I think. Once we have determined how much time up a tree is enough to truly disqualify one from having to worry about such things.
