Hello all.

I've been settling in, the same as I'm sure many of you have, but while I've taken a position to pay the bills, I've noticed a distinct lack of my previous vocation:

I was a reporter, and while I won't say I was the best one in the business where I come from, I would say that I truly believe in the power and importance of the free press. Now, I'm currently down in Wyver at the moment, but I do have an associate, the real head of this operation, who's been working on this problem from up in Olympia.

Neither of us have necessarily worked in the management of a publication before, so we're happy to sit back a little if someone with the experience would like to step forward, but we're also looking for people who are interested in working in journalism from any direction: bloggers, photographers, or the more investigation inclined.

You can ping me here and we can discuss it or we can meet up somewhere in the city as is easiest for you. I'm pretty mobile and more than flexible.

What's Winterfest? If you don't mind me asking...

It's a festival to get everyone through the winter. On the longest night of the year, there's a celebration, with food and music and dancing.

A bit like the one here. But maybe not so formal.

We had something like that in my home town. I lived out in the country, so there was always a good excuse for a gathering if someone could find it.

I did, though I never went as a 'bard'. Usually, I was helping my parents with a farm stand.

You grew up on a farm.

I think I might have enjoyed that life.

That I did. And... I wonder myself, if I would have enjoyed that. My path took me elsewhere.

To become a bard.

[Now it's clear there's a laugh in his voice. He knows that bard isn't the exact translation.]

Though I'm currently working at the dragon pens, so perhaps I just needed to loop around to farm work.

Do you like it? Working with dragons?

I do.

It's a bit like working with cows.

Only when it isn't, obviously.

They don't really like me much.

I've never really... seen them take exception to much.

Did you do something to a cow sometime?

I once knocked one over when I was very drunk.

[This is, in fact, a very filthy lie. But Fitz knows people respond to this sort of thing, and it tells him a lot about a person, how.]

You must be very very strong then. They're rather large animals.
