Hello all.

I've been settling in, the same as I'm sure many of you have, but while I've taken a position to pay the bills, I've noticed a distinct lack of my previous vocation:

I was a reporter, and while I won't say I was the best one in the business where I come from, I would say that I truly believe in the power and importance of the free press. Now, I'm currently down in Wyver at the moment, but I do have an associate, the real head of this operation, who's been working on this problem from up in Olympia.

Neither of us have necessarily worked in the management of a publication before, so we're happy to sit back a little if someone with the experience would like to step forward, but we're also looking for people who are interested in working in journalism from any direction: bloggers, photographers, or the more investigation inclined.

You can ping me here and we can discuss it or we can meet up somewhere in the city as is easiest for you. I'm pretty mobile and more than flexible.

[ Journalism's hardly her forte, and barely even an interest, but what does catch her eye is the mention of investigation. Information. There's only so much she can learn about Nysa on her own. ]

What topics are you looking to cover?

Just about anything, honestly. If you've got a well-researched opinion piece or a piece of newsworthy information or just the latest trends in the Wyver marketplace. Starting is better than dithering about what we should publish.

At least in my estimation.

I'm not much of a writer, but if you're looking for someone to keep an eye out on what's happening I might
be able to help.

I can do the writing if you're willing to do the investigation.

Writing and managing a publication and getting to know all the locals while out shopping for dinner, unless I've guessed completely wrong.

[ How many journalists can there be, really. ]

You must really love being busy.

I don't, but sometimes busy is the best way to be.

Sometimes, there's just things to do.

Any other nieces had any other babies while I've been gone?

And no, not to my knowledge. And I've been to the market... it feels like a dozen times this week.

Took a day trip over to Olympia to see the sights.

[ And to get a better feel of the political tensions over there as opposed to Wyver. ]

Looks like things are getting pretty rough over there, if what I saw's happening all over the country.

I've noticed something similar.

I was traveling there and back pretty frequently for a while to help with the recovery but...

It became clear after a while it wasn't really welcome anymore.

[ And he's got more than a bit of a twitch about being looked at like an outside whose help is not exactly welcome. Not like that hasn't bit him in the ass before or anything... ]

Deliveries are out of my hands but if you're ever worried about someone I might be able to drop by.

[ Small cat paws can only hold so much... ]

I appreciate the offer. I'm still... pretty mobile, so visiting's not a problem. I'm just doing it more privately.

There aren't going to be regular meetings I have to attend if I help with this whole publication thing,

I wasn't planning on it. Probably just meeting with me, at least to start.

If it's something that bothers you, I'm sure we can figure something out.

Not so much 'bothers' as it is a pain in the butt.

But if you find a way to make 'em interesting, I'll probably stay awake. I suggest alcohol, if you do go that route.

I DO actually have some extra moonshine from a Christmas present. Would you be interested in taking a bottle or two?

If you really want to do something nice, buy me dinner instead.

I'd be willing to make you dinner, if you like. I'm a pretty good cook.

[ Whoa, even better. ]

You write, you manage, you help little old ladies across the street, and now you say you can cook?
Is there anything you can't do?

I've been told I have a pretty awful right hook.

Are you going to follow that up by saying you have a great left hook?

[ She doesn't give him time to answer, moving right on ahead. ]

But sure, I'll take you up on dinner. Unless you've got some girlfriend at home that'll get angry?

I have a roommate who prides herself on being grumpy. And she's made it clear I'm welcome to have guests.

And no, I'm not. It might actually be worse than the right one.

Grumpy huh? You must be the perfect roommate for her then.

But alright, whenever you feel like cooking for more than two. I'll be right on over.

I'm not sure what you mean by that, but we do get along just fine.
