I was going to head back towards Olympia, but it's safer to travel in groups. Would anyone like to make the trip with me?

[ He's not much for the written word but he doesn't really like video (it's creepy) and audio is almost creepier. ]

[ He switches to be polite. What Diana's getting is a rather large young man with a few scars on him dressed in a uniform that... well, it looks very much like the sort of uniform she'd be familiar with. ]

That would be nice. My name is Randel.

We can meet at the-

[ He's interrupted as a small alleycat climbs her way up his uniform to start nuzzling at his face. He pauses to gently lift the cat onto his shoulder. There, that should do. ]

Meet at the northern gate?

( it's true she can appreciate a uniform! She smiles when she sees his face, a 'hello' without any words.

She is slightly surprised by the appearance of a cat but she doesn't let it deter her. )

A friend of yours? ( she means the cat. as for the gate, she nods. ) That should serve. When do you intend to depart?

[ He smiles back at her smile; it's easy enough to read his expressions, since he hides almost nothing. ]

I take care of them and they take care of me.

But we can leave whenever you're ready. You're the only one who's responded.

[wondie]

( Diana likes animals well enough but couldn't claim that kind of kinship. it seems charming. )

A friend indeed, then. That is what it means to be a friend, would you not say?

I need to settle a few affairs first, then. I can be ready by morning light.

( she ....... she really does mean that painfully early, too. )

[ He just nods. ]

I'll make sure I'm there at dawn.

[ Even now, with the Natha having softened his nightmares, he still doesn't sleep much. ]

[wondie]

Then I will see you then.

I am Diana. You should know my name, if we are to travel together.

[ He did, but he's bad at this whole communicator contact thing. ]

( a light laugh. )

Thank you for coming with me. I feel a lot better about going with someone.

You're welcome. I agree that travels taken alone somehow feel the wearier.

And it is safer for us to move in groups, as well.
