Maybe this is a bad time?

[When Dylas starts the audio feed, he’s already not sure if he wants to do this. What a follows is a long sigh before he actually begins speaking in earnest.]

Hey. I know everyone’s sick. It’s pretty bad. I’m sure you all know some of the symptoms, but maybe you guys have been feeling something else, too? Something happened to me last month. Er, has been...happening.

[There’s a long, uncomfortable pause. He doesn’t know what he’s doing.]

I mean, maybe your body is changing. Doing things it couldn’t before. Maybe...being more sensitive. Maybe you’re noticing something different about yourself that you didn’t before? Something that doesn’t line up with the symptoms? If that happens, you should talk to the Orbiters. [Another pause. Ugh. He hates doing this, seriously.] They can apparently change our bodies without asking. They, uh. Can give us things that weren’t there before.

[He’s clearly not wanting to go into any details. Or maybe it’s not clear. He’s just this deep, masculine voice who sounds sort of confused about how to address large groups.]

So if you start feeling weird outside of the sickness or weren’t sick before, it might be that your body is going through new changes.

[Another long pause.]

It’s not puberty. I’ve already done that.

So what're these changes about anyway?

[He scoffs. Because he'd already said it wasn't weird horse alien puberty? Anyways.]

I dunno if it'd be the same for everyone, but those space weirdos somehow made my senses a hell of a lot stronger while I slept. Like, smell the shampoo in a stranger's hair strong.

Isn't that a good thing? Better sight and hearing means it'd be easier for you to fight.

It's not about whether or not it's a good thing. Seeing better in the dark is fine, but how the hell is smelling and hearing better supposed to help me kick someone's ass?

If someone's sneaking up on you, you'd be able to hear them better.

I guess -- a keen sense of smell's pretty good for tracking? [ he's just reaching a little. ]

If someone's sneaking up on me, that's not a fight. That's trickery.

[Ignore him, he's an idiot.]

I can pick up the scent of food pretty easily. But if you think accidentally getting a strong whiff of cat shit from fifty feet away is fun, maybe you should ask the Orbiters for a special thank you yourself.

[vacuum]

[ That's still a fight?!? ]

... No thanks. I wonder what this is all about, though. Do you feel different in any other way?

[sullenstallion]

Yeah. That's what I thought.

[Wow, Dylas sure feels like he showed him. What follows is a long pause. Eventually, he answers.]

Nope. That's it. That's everything.

[But he's probably lying.]

[vacuum]

... You're lying. [ So obviously, too. Normally, Chuuya wouldn't be caring about someone else's business, but if the Natha are truly starting something, he wants to know about it. ]

[sullenstallion]

What? Damn it, no. I'm not.

[He clears his throat like it'll somehow erase the fact that he's clearly lying, but the pause gives his brains a few extra seconds to think. A new idea emerges.]

Fine. I lied. Happy?

[vacuum]

[ This guy's pretty quick to change his mind. ]

I won't be happy until you tell me just how you're changing.

[sullenstallion]

I'm absolutely never telling you.

[That would explain his quick change of tune, right? Dylas thinks he's clever. Saying he lied? Easy. Saying he can transform into a horse? Well, that's never going to happen. He thinks.]

[vacuum]

Come on. What's the point of making this post at all if you're going to hold back so many important details?

If this is gonna be a widespread thing, I wanna know what to expect.

Maybe some of those details are personal. No chumps allowed.
