1 🕷 TEXT

[ username: beaker ]

( it's taken him awhile to build up the courage for this one. he wants to make this idea happen, yet a part of him wonders if he's the right guy for the job. without Clark he'd floundered a little, yet the need for a stable medium for sharing information remains, so here he is.

he waffled over voice, video, and text. in the end, he goes for text, because it makes him seem less nervous. maybe. though anyone that's texted him before might notice the difference — all the capital letters and punctuation, for example. lazy texting doesn't work when you're trying to convince people you want to put together a newspaper.
)

Hey. Hello. I'm Peter, and I was thinking...

So back home, I worked at a newspaper. Not The New York Times or anything, but a paper, and it feels like we could use something like that here. Stories about what is going on in Olympia, or Thesa, or anywhere that people might need to know about. Classifieds, updates, tips for finding work and accommodations, sharing... anything and everything, really, because we're all starting over, here, and we've got to help each other.

I've got lots of ideas. Maybe you've got some, too. Either way, I can't do this by myself. If you have experience in journalism, or just writing, and you want to help out, then let me know.

I can't pay you. Gotta be upfront about that. But maybe that'll change? I dunno. Money or not, it'd help a lot of people. If that's worth it to you, then let me know if you're interested, and what you'd like to do. Questions, too, I guess, though I can't answer everything yet. It's kind of all up in the air until I know who I'm working with.

Yeah. That's it. Thanks for your time.

( ...okay, not a #nailedit, but... it could have been worse??? )

Can't be that hard. If you've written an essay before, it's not that much different.

[ She says as if she's some sort of professional reporter. ]

I scribble notes for my cases all the time. I think I could make some decent news articles out of them.
Putting aside client confidentiality, of course.

Do people normally associate nerds with moms?

[ Where is your head, Parker? ]

I made no declaration.

I know it EXISTS somewhere in this city, but it hasn't been marked on the map. Yet.

You think I haven't TRIED?

These losers are keeping it hidden and hogging it all to themselves.
They're up to something, my man.
I'm trying to get to the bottom of it.

Oh I know - Times New Roman! Always thought that'd be a hella cute name for a paper.
Not that anyone here would have a clue.

But come on, Petey. There's always pizza to look for.
And not just any pizza.

New. York. Style.

But it'd totally make us foreigners feel right at home, that's for sure.

And surprise surprise! But there's a little shop in Venice, Cali that makes some kickass New York Style. Maybe even BETTER than the old big apple.
