( it's taken him awhile to build up the courage for this one. he wants to make this idea happen, yet a part of him wonders if he's the right guy for the job. without Clark he'd floundered a little, yet the need for a stable medium for sharing information remains, so here he is.

he waffled over voice, video, and text. in the end, he goes for text, because it makes him seem less nervous. maybe. though anyone that's texted him before might notice the difference — all the capital letters and punctuation, for example. lazy texting doesn't work when you're trying to convince people you want to put together a newspaper. )

Hey. Hello. I'm Peter, and I was thinking...

So back home, I worked at a newspaper. Not The New York Times or anything, but a paper, and it feels like we could use something like that here. Stories about what is going on in Olympia, or Thesa, or anywhere that people might need to know about. Classifieds, updates, tips for finding work and accommodations, sharing... anything and everything, really, because we're all starting over, here, and we've got to help each other.

I've got lots of ideas. Maybe you've got some, too. Either way, I can't do this by myself. If you have experience in journalism, or just writing, and you want to help out, then let me know.

I can't pay you. Gotta be upfront about that. But maybe that'll change? I dunno. Money or not, it'd help a lot of people. If that's worth it to you, then let me know if you're interested, and what you'd like to do. Questions, too, I guess, though I can't answer everything yet. It's kind of all up in the air until I know who I'm working with.

a permanently grumpy kind of thing. he's here — you'll know him if you see him. tattoos, taller than a tree, black hair, a lot of leather, obnoxiously good cheekbones.

well im not sure how many people will fit that description so i will probably know if i see him around. hes still your boss, even here?

( peter knows more about what that entails than he can admit, actually..... whoops. still, he hadn't realized that shadowhunting had followed her here. )

( finally he's hit the breaking point, wondering if she's making another joke or genuinely denying the insinuation she's attractive. he should take the freebie and get out of this conversation, but seriously, that makes no sense, Clary. )

ashti is my boss now, technically. but if alec needed me for anything, i trust his judgment.

[ butting heads is to be expected, even so. still, it's a far cry from defying and distrusting one another at every corner like it once was. it doesn't count as being her boss here, not truly, but alec's always been better at leading and directing than most shadowhunters she's known. ]

uh, half and half?

[ half joking meaning she doesn't genuinely believe his eyesight is that terrible, the other half being that she's not the type to think much of herself in a lot of aspects. get used to it, peter. ]

peter, for his part, is too embarrassed to even respond to the agreement to forget that he said she was hot, so he says nothing. may he just die now and never think of this painful moment again. )
