[It's been barely a day since everyone was brought up to the station, leaving time frozen down on the planet. With a life uprooted so quickly and without warning, with the destruction the dragon had begun to rain down on their homes, it's not surprising that some people might need a little more time to come to terms with everything that's happened.]

Well, I'm bored already.

[Or not.

With a slightly dramatic sigh:] After that excitement with the dragon things are pretty dull up here, wouldn't you say? [Of course you would. Ramsay is as right about this as he is about everything.] It's all so... quiet. And- [He makes a face. Yuck.

But an idea dawns on him and he quickly perks up.] Since we're all stuck up here with nowhere to go and no way to get away from each other, why don't we find a pleasant way to pass the time? I feel I know hardly any of you.

[He's practically beaming.] Anyone know any good games?

I don't have a pai sho board unfortunately but I imagine someone's bound to have board games up here in some room.

I wouldn't really call it excitement. It was rather devastating, I feel.

Board games. [Said with the tone of a man who's never heard that particular phrase before.

With scepticism:] I don't imagine a board on it's own will be much fun. How's it used?

It's lovely to meet you, Jean. I'm Ramsay. [But about this game:] I've seen men hung, of course. Rather an uneventful death, usually.

[He appears again, a little mussed, but with a notebook, pen, and pot of lavender coloured ink] Being hanged? No, no, oh goodness no. I mean the word game. You guess a word a letter at a time, and if you get a word wrong you draw part of a hanging man. If the man is complete before you get the word, you lose!

Depends on the rules of the particular game, I think. I know with pai sho you have differing numbers of tiles and set movements you can do with those tiles on the board.

Oh, Claire. That's not how games are played.

[Ramsay is about to tell a story of a man he'd seen hung when he was a boy (it was very funny) but he stops when the man reveals this game isn't actually about that.

But he has hope-]

And what happens after you lose?

Though when it was made, it was used at executions. They'd make criminals try and solve the puzzle for the chance at a pardon, or a favour perhaps. But if they lost, then they were hanged straight away.

I don't think many of them won.

But now it's mostly played in pubs and things, rather than for killing people. You'd lose your gaming partners quite quickly, that way!

[It was too much to hope for, but the story that goes with it makes for quite an entertaining thought. He'll have to play it with Reek sometime.]

But there must be some stakes, just for interest. Say... whoever is hanged the most must buy the other a drink.

Let's see how long you can keep your baser instincts at bay and pretend to be human like the rest of us now that we're forced to be in close proximity. I know it's very difficult, but the prize should be motivation enough.

Just remember what I've said in the past. [You know, before the first little encounter with his knife. All of her good, strong, heroic buddies are grouped together. There would probably be a line to deal with Ramsay if Claire decided--or had to--make a fuss.]

[She's no Iroh but pai sho was sort of one of those things you got roped into playing as a kid with older relatives quite often.]
