some people need space and time, but for you to not forget them. some need constant assurance, even when they're being difficult. you figure it out with time. getting to know them. listening. even to the in-between words. the ones that have no shape in sound.
it gets easier. sometimes, someone suffering has held onto me, and i can feel all the buried love inside them trying to burst out. i wonder sometimes if they can't take the weight of it anymore. they're not bad, only scared, only lonely.
