Hello! I'm 9S, and I'm testing out the capabilities of these devices we've been given. I'm just looking at some technical stuff so, uh, feel free to disregard if it's not your sort of thing.

I know we've all lost our homes recently and that's pretty rough to deal with, but... if you wouldn't mind, could you tell me if you came from Earth? And if you did, what did you like about it?

You can do that if you're from somewhere else too! Earth's the only planet I had experience with before coming here, but I'd be happy to hear about other worlds as well.

I'm sorry about your town. I've been near the ocean myself, but there wasn't much activity where I was. What about you?

well we were out in the sticks but it still seemed pretty lively! maybe that was just the friends i kept

Friends can make a pretty big difference. It sounds like you lived in a very pleasant place.

yeah I really miss it the sun was always so beautiful when it rose over the ocean every day and you could jog up to the hills where there was the little temple and look out over all the islands I don't think I'll ever forget what that looked like

It rose up over the ocean every day... what about when it sunk?

That sounds beautiful. Peaceful.

"set," not "sunk"! and it would set over the mountains and the rest of the island, since we were on the east coast still pretty impressive! but not as beautiful as the rise, I think it was really peaceful.

A sunset! Whoops.

it feels like Im in some sort of science fiction story honestly

do they not have sunsets where you come from?

Yeah, I can see how that would feel that way. It's pretty different for everybody.

are you like all underground or...

No sunsets.

The part of the world I worked in was facing the sun at all times, so it was never night. You had to go to the other side of the planet or into space to see the stars.

wait for real? so your planet didnt spin??? the sun never went down? that sounds awful!

It spun enough that we still had weather, but no, the sun never went down.

It does sound pretty bad, huh?

if the sun never goes down, how do you sleep?
how do animals sleep??? did everyone just have really thick curtains on their windows?

[idealog]

Everything needs to rest. Even androids. Our rooms are usually pretty dark.

I'm not sure how the animals sleep, but the ones who've been around this long are used to it.
