( it's not been horribly long since Diana poked around the network, and surprise surprise, she's still ignoring the fact there is a voice and text function. she will look upon the faces of those she speaks to, tyvm!

she's dressed in the dark black of the city guard, her hair pinned up and a sparkling brooch at her cloak, though her fingers are already toying with it as she speaks. )

I see that our numbers have grown greater. My name is Diana of Themyscira, and I bid you all welcome, both faces old and new. If you need aide during your displacement, then I offer what knowledge I have. You need but ask.

( that said, it's not exactly why she's here, though her note is just as important with so many more that might need to learn how to protect themselves. )

It has come to my attention that there are many in our midst that know little in the way of defense. Or, perhaps not enough, in a world with so many dangers lingering just out of sight. It troubles me to think that there are those that may not know how to protect themselves, especially if they possess a desire to learn.

( which brings her to her purpose, an important one at that. Diana seems gifted at finding herself a purpose. )

I am an amazon, well trained in the art of war. Archery, swordplay, use of a shield, riding, hand to hand, more. If there are those that would learn, I would be happy to show what I know. It will not be simple, and the training will be difficult. Still, if you would learn, I will make you an amazon. This is more than a style of defense, it is a family. You will gain both if you learn from me.

( her piece said, Diana crosses her arms. )

( if she could share it, Yona, she certainly would. it grieves Diana to think that she is the only one currently awake that even has some concept of the beauty of her home.

was she a princess, too? well, Diana has gotten a little better about throwing down titles that don't mean too much in this world, but... ) Yes. It means little now, but I was a princess.

( was. an uncomfortable way to phrase it. Diana tilts her head, curiosity obvious. ) I take it you are also a princess?

[Was... because of what happened to their homes? That's the easiest explanation, and as curious as Yona is, she's not going to push for it now. Not when they barely know each other and she's hoping that Diana will do her the favor of teaching her to, you know, be a functional human being.]

[Hak is going to kill her if he finds out she just outed herself like this. Well, with any luck he'll never figure out how to access the network!]

Um, yes. I a-... was, too. [Was is hard to get used to, but she's going to have to get used to it. By all accounts, Kouka no longer exists.] I think our kingdoms must be pretty different, though, even if they were both peaceful. I learned things like music and dance, not combat.

[A big part of that was her father being a coward, though.]

Amazons are known more for our fighting spirit than our dancing, it is true, though we did have our dances on occasion. Usually for celebration.

( and it was far more intense than the """"dancing"""" Diana has witnessed outside of Themyscira. because let's be real, amazons are extra about everything. )

The most important thing we have in common is peace. A difficult feat indeed.

[Yona sighs a little wistfully - she's used to seeing people dance at feasts, typically for joyful occasions. How long will it be before she can see that again?]

If I live up to the Amazon fighting spirit well enough, will you teach me one of your dances, to celebrate?

You have my word. Especially if you will repay the favor in kind. I would love to see the dances of Kouka.

( hopefully that involves more than swaying, because Diana is not much impressed by that kind of dancing. )
